Here is my short list. 79 Plymouth Colt (mitsubishi front wheel drive)86 Honda CRX 90 Acura Integra GS92 Honda Civic EXV2003 VibeAll bought new, all manual shift 5 speeds except for the Colt which had a 2 speed transfer case, 8 speed forward and two reverse! The 1.8 Vibe is the biggest car I have owned. At this rate I might get a 6 cylinder by the time I retire, but it will probably be a hybrid.

Boy is this an old thread.... But with our many new members that have arrived, I figured it would be cool to revive it. I'm surprised I never posted to this... Here's my list:1982 Monte Carlo: 3.8 V6, 3-speed auto, big, heavy, slooow!1990 Cutlass Supreme 4-door: 3.1 V6, 4-speed auto. 1995 Corsica: 2.2 4-cyl and 3-speed auto... ugh!1998 Malibu LS: 3.1 V6, 4-speed auto, first new car - and ironically it was the worst car I've had thus far. 2003 Vibe!

I've never been much of one for "mainstream" cars. The day I buy a Camry or an Accord will be the day I intend to commit suicide by massive kinetic energy transfer in it. *wink*1987 - In the Marines, stationed at MCAGCC 29 Palms...1979 Fiat X 1/9 - gold. Blew the engine and abandoned in Riverside. $5001976 Jensen Healey. Was an officer's car. Had the original Lotus 4+manual swapped for a Ford V-6+auto. MAN could that thing GO. $12001990 - back in Cali. after mustering out of the service. 1979 Chrysler Newport. Maroon 4 door 318 V8. Glad to see I'm not the only person to have owned one... Sadly lacking in performance and fuel economy. This is the closest to a "normal" car I've owned, I think. $12001969 Opel GT. Fixer Upper...never did get it running. $5001993 - Moved to McMinnville, Oregon, thence to Ft. Lauderdale, FL1978 Chrysler Lebaron. Same engine as the Newport, but peppier. $5001997 - Moved to Phoenix1976 Buick Skyhawk - MAN that thing had a lot of glass for Phoenix! Nothing quite like coming out at the end of the work day to a car that ran 135-140* inside...and no A/C. $2501998 Moved to Colorado1987 White GMC Suburban with Rancho 9500 shocks all the way around. Was 6'10" tall. Named Moby. (The Great White Whale) $650020001990 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD. $750 from a friend who couldn't keep it running after a year of trying. (It was an alternator FUSE! *LOL*)2004 2 years without a car, because the Talon died, and the bus is *SUPER* convenient for me to commute on...and the Grocery Store delivers. 1980 Jetta Wolfsburg edition. $3002003 Pontiac Vibe GT.Man, it sure feels good to own a car that costs more than $2000 for once...

great thread to revive! 1983 Toyota Tercel SR5 4wd wagon 5 spd- actually was my parents' car but all us kids got to drive it and it ended up being my transportation in high school (sr year) and college (freshman)1998 Pontiac Grand Am SE 2 dr 5 spd- my very first car I ever bought was brand new with 32 miles, bought from my family's car guy and great deal!1992 Chevy S-10 Blazer 4.8L Vortec 4wd auto- traded the RELIABLE car in for this POS cause i wanted to go 4xing! it's NOT made to go off roading 1998 Kia Sephia sedan 5 spd- picked this up about 3 months after I had the blazer from the bank's repo lot with less than 2000 miles. paid well under trade in and sold it 2 months later for $1500 more (to recoop my losses in the 92 Blazer also sold the month before)2000 Mercury Cougar v6 5 spd- ordered it from Seattle and had it shipped up. fun and great looking car, very unique lines and a beautiful laser red color. unfortunately it also landed me my one and only speeding ticket! 2001 Toyota Tundra V8 4wd Access Cab (Ivan Stewart Edition) auto- traded in my cougar when i got stuck in the parking lot at work. Outside sales means driving a lot outside (imagine that) and needed a vehicle that would get me around. LOVED my truck! it was awesome!!!!! but finances made me give it up sadly, still the longest i've owned any vehicle.2003 Pontiac Vibe GT 6 spd- went back to the more economical yet fun car to make my pocket book easier to breathe! so far, it's been a good car. i've met plenty of great people because of it and that includes the love of my life, Phil. awwww..... isn't that sweet? loli've got some great pics of my first cars but i'll have to find them and scan them in later.

Cool thread...It's always interesting to see what people have driven throughout their lives.1976 Ford LTD Country Squire Wagon - 3 speed auto, light blue with fake wood paneling. Inherited it from my Stepdad.1987 Hyundai Excel L - 4 speed manual, GREAT gas mileage. Replaced the LTD.1993 Hyundai Excel GS - 5 speed manual, replaced the '87 Exel. As sporty as a Hyundai could possible be with a spoiler. 1995 Dodge Neon Sport 4 door - 5 speed manual. Replaced the '93 Excel. (What was I thinking?!?!) It died a horrible smoky death when the timing belt shredded causing a piston to bounce and crack the head. Cost more to fix than it was worth.2001 Saturn SL2 - 5 speed manual, power package, sunroof, spoiler, rims, all the toys. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!! Still have it, lives in the garage. Gets driven about once a week.1998 Chevrolet Tracker Convertible - 5 speed manual. (see a pattern?) Fun car, but bouncy as hell. Had it six weeks, then traded it for the Vibe.2004 Pontiac Vibe GT - 6 speed manual - Fusion monotone. Daily driver, coolest car in the lot at work.

Quote, originally posted by trdvibe »notice how a lot of vibe owners have a history or either GM or Toyota (sometimes both) vehicles? I guess I'm an exception to that...I've never owned a GM vehicle, and I never liked the Toyota that I had...REALLY dull car...it was an appliance to me, kinda like a washing machine, and it had about as much personality as a washing machine.I like cars with personalities...they have to speak to me when I drive (and not the old "your door is ajar" thing)...they have to entice me to want to drive them with the way they go about their business...lively steering, willing engine, responsive brakes, or at least a quirky attitude. The Toyota and the Hyundai were the only cars that never said a word to me...guess that's why I didn't like them.Fact is, I'd love to get another VW because they really speak to me, but until their quality goes back up, I'm staying away. WAY too many irritating things go wrong on recent VWs...nothing that leaves you stranded, but lots of little things that would drive me up a wall.

awww. i had that 83 tercel wagon that i loved! it was a grandma wagon, but hey, i could do 80 mph on a 55 zone and no one would pay any attention to me! lol. plus w/ 4wd, got me around anywhere i needed! fun to drive in the snow. now my best friend has a 94 tercel auto and it's very very boring and slow. but good car!my tundra was an awesome truck! i loved that much more than i love my vibe! great vehicle! if not for the cost to opperate and own it, i would have kept that forever, slapped in the s/c and been one extremely happy girl! but then, i wouldn't have met the love of my life so..... it's a good trade off!but my family owns almost all GM's. 02 chevy impala LS, and a new 04 Chevy 2500 HD.

Ya know, it's funny...I always liked the tercel wagons you had. Those were the ones with the funky hatchback door that looked like an ATM machine right? I always thought those were cool, and I used to want one really bad. Maybe it's because they looked like they had a quirky personality. I mean, when it comes right down to it my Kia is a dull, slow car. But it's got loads of personality...it makes me laugh when I drive it, and it starts ALL kinds of conversations with complete strangers. My 89 Tercel was just bland all the way through.

(removed), if only i'd taken pics of it! LOL. the door was falling off, the bumpers were tied on with wire and duct tape, etc. piece of crap, but man we had some fun!

Quote, originally posted by BlueCrush »1964 Chevy ImpalaI LOVE the 64 Impala! Growing up my next door neighbor had a 64 Impala SS and it was beautiful! 2 door, that GM bronze / gold color, black interior with bucket seats and center console with the floor shifter. I think hers had the smallest V8 available at the time and the 2-speed powerglide, but it was still a beautiful car! I'd love to get my hands on one...do a resto-mod on it to keep it looking completely stock, until the hood is opened...maybe a 350 or 383 under the hood, hooked up to a TH350. I'd LOVE to play with something like that...loads of fun!
