My first car was a puke green 1971 Dodge Demon and had a little devil next to the badges.

'85 S-15 w/ '89 grill shaved and smoothed all the way around, 5 speed 2.8 V6. Completely slammed, couldn't roll a softball under it! ARE 5 stars rapped in Dunlops. Sealed and booted rear window to cap and bed. Custom paint, full neons, 2 15" Pyles, 2 1" Stillwater tweets, 2 Kenwood 6x9's, 2 6" kenwood mids, 2 Kenwood 4x6 plates, 2 analog croosovers, 1 analog bass crossover, rockford fosgate punch amp. Dual turbo mufflers, and a whole lot of bounce!!!Quite a truck for a first! Oh, those were the days! I would never have anything like it again...I had a '78(i believe) Baby Blue Pinto to drive in the winter. The truck wouldn't make it out of the garage with even the slightest dusting of snow!

1949 Rover Model 75 "F"-head 6 cyl. [Hmm...that's the earlist listed so far. On the other hand, it was only 10 years old at the time, so I guess I'm dating myself!] Anyway, wrapped it around a phone pole 2 months later...

My first car was a 1976 Datsun 710. It was a hand me down from my sister, and was a piece of junk. But, it was fun to have a car in high school, so no complaints.

My first car was a 76 Plymouth Duster 360. I still have it in storage, not that it is worth much. Very fast though. 0-60 6sec, 14.5sec/98 qtr mile. "5.0 liter mustang beater" Many fun rides and some serious barbed wire and fence post damages.

My first car was a 1982 Volkwagon Quantum Wagon.It was a diesel and fully loaded. It cost more than a Cadilac when new!! Unfortuantly it burned up in a barn fire as I was fixing it up when I was 15 (1993).

Let's see...First car:1989 Pontiac Bonneville This car was wonderful! Had some paint scratches, and it had this weird thing where if you left the rear defroster on too long, the breaker would trip, knocking out power to the seat adjustment, locks, windows, and climate control systems. Turns out there was something wrong with the rear grid that caused it to pull too much amperage. This puppy was SO heavy, I could drive through ANYTHING without so much as a slip, and the tranny and V6 engine had amazing pickup time...problem was, she was too old, and I drove her too hard, and blew the tranny. Farewell old friend...Second car: 1992 Pontiac Grand Am That picture is obviously not MY car. I never took a picture of this car I hated it so much. It was a maroon red, and I got it in horrendous condition (another hand me down). There were stains in all the carpets, the fog light system was blown (since the car was less than a year old, when my brother drove it into the lawnmower and fried the fog system), there was a piece of trim on the right side that would NEVER stay on, and every time I went to get in, I had to go to that side first to slam it back on. It had pathetic pickup, was really low, and really loud. After only a couple months, I had steering problems. Went to the dealer, they said when they lifted it on the rack, the steering fluid came pouring out of the side of the rack. Was going to cost thousands to replace. I stood up and said, "ya know what. I think you need it more than I do. " That was the end of that era.3rd car: 2002 Pontiac Sunfire(a.ka. Melissa)By far my favorite car to date. I loved her. She was my baby. And she has gone on to a better place. Had her less than a year. Was on my way home from college. Got cut off by a driver, swerved to avoid hitting him, lost control. Slammed into the center concrete median, bounced off. Slammed into a moving 18 wheeler. Bounced off. Did a 90, came to rest in the center lane of a 3 lane road, facing traffic. Thankfully, people stopped. But, thanks to her, I walked away with a lower back muscle pull, a couple of airbag burns (which disappeared in a day or two) and a small cut on my knee. rofl. my family has always been a pontiac family. my mother's father's best friend (now owned by his son's son) owns a dealership, and we've dealt with them ever since...As to the name Melissa, I named it after my best friend in college...I hadn't seen her in like 3 years, and I missed her, so I figured the best way to keep her in my life was name my car after her!

My first car was a 69 Dodge Coronet 4 door, 318, AT, tan with a copper roof. Had been in PA mountains and the winter salt really ate the cheap steel. Sucker would get up and move though. Hit the gas and the front end would rise up, then when you got up to speed I guess the parachute effect of all the rust holes would lift the back up too. Had part of a spare differential wedged in under one of the trunk hinges to hold it in place after the mount rusted awayBroke a motor mount, and when you hit the gas the engine would lift up off the mount. This pulled the accelerator cable, forcing full throttle and temporarily disconnecting the shift linkage. Only way to stop was to get up enough speed that the torque on the motor let off enough for the motor to drop back down.At one point I found a pair of vise grips clamped to the underside where my uncle had been doing some body work years before I got the car. Great tool, still have them.The car also taught me about MOPAR transmissions, a lesson I didn't really learn until I had a Dodge caravan.All kinds of things I'll never tell my kids about happened in that car, and I still miss it.

Mine was a 1969 Ford Thunderbird Landau Coupe..... Was fully loaded with a 429 ThunderJet.... I was the 3rd owner. Had the original paisley vinyl roof, 8 track, air, cruise, tilt, power seat/windows, moon roof and one of the first vehicles to offer electric rear defrost.Was a great car but a boat......

well I'm 39 now (bummer) and I've actually kept a photo album of the rides. Hey Wrx, great car list! I had a couple of "Blower Beetles" too in the distant past, a '56 sedan and a '58 Karman-Ghia (as well a one with Porsche power and a '52 with a 215 c.i. aluminum Buick V-8 in the back seat.)My buddy on the East coast had an '02 WRX which I got to drive briefly and found most impressive, but he traded it last week for a T-Rex! i'm contemplating the 14 hour one way drive for a test blast to see what the additional gear and 73 horses feel like.

Money has never been a huge issue for me. I mean i can't get Ferrari's and stuff, but i can hold my own.

Well, by next year i'll be promoted to manager so i will have alot less worry about money. I'll end up getting a house within 3-4 years.

I actually think i'm going to get another truck soon, not selling the Vibe, but i want a new Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab with the Hemi and 20's

Definitly make the trip, subies are a blast. I'll never forget the first msutang GT I encountered in mine. They (two guys) were reving the old 4.6 at me and the light turned green. I dumped it at 4000rpms and w/ all 4 tires spining blew then away. At the next light thet had to pull behind me in my lane, and I could see the passenger reading the trunk "SUBARU dammit!" LOLKewl to see another V-Dub fan too. they'r a GASS (German Air Sucker Sociaty)of course this was back when few knew what a WRX was.

My first car was a 1978 Monte Carlo Landau. What a piece that was. My parents made me reuild the engine before they'd let me start driving. Drained 9 quarts of oil out before we pulled the motor so we could start doing "real" work to it. Ahhh, those were the days.

1978 Z-28. Neighbor gave it to me when husband died. Still have that car in my garage and drive it on nice days. 48,000 or so original miles. All original everything. I got lucky cause she knew when I was a kid how much I liked it and they used to take me for rides with them.Will never sell that car!

Although, I do miss my Corrado in it's prime. It once dyno'd @ ~220 HP at the wheels w/ lot's o' torque. Very fast, VERY fun to drive and very unique to boot. (no it's not a scirocco, damn you! hehe)Mine was sans BBS wires..

1st car was a 1978 Caprice Classic....got it in 1989......full of rust.......8-track.......it ferried me back between college (near Albany) and home (NYC) ....it was big enuff that i could take 4-6 people home, so each chipped in some to cover my gas and tolls.....it was a great car.......had it 4 2 years, and then gave it 2 my bro.....who promptly killed it by ignoring the anitifreeze leak it developed!!

Here's my history:79 Olds Cutlass(hand-me down)....totaled after 2 months....79 Honda Civic(parents puchased).....died, junkedfor a while....(nothing)83 Toyota Celica(hand-me down)....traded for....90 Honda Prelude(purchased new) (My one true love)....gave to girlfriend (future wife)87 Pontiac 6000 (purchased used)...interesting quirks (sold to nephew for $500)90 Honda Prelude (given back to me when my wife got a 95 Mitsubishi Galant)...traded for....98 Nissan Sentra SE (lease new - NEVER AGAIN)....expired and bought....96 Dodge Intrepid (purchased used)...horrible car...traded in for03 Pontiac Vibe GT (purchased new)....I think I've found my Prelude replacement.Just to complete the story....My wife's Mitsubishi Galant was traded in for a 97 Mercury Villager....So, I've got one Mercury Villager and one Pontiac Vibe parked in my garage.... you can guess which one my wife and I argue about wanting to drive.....

My first car was a 1984 Camaro my Dad & I pulled from a junk yard in 1990. I was 15. We spent a year rebuilding it. Paid $1250 for it. V6, no options, 63000 miles. It had a whopping 108 horsepower! Fun but very abusive ride. Sold it for $500 back to the guy we bought it from 4 years & 118000 miles later. I miss it some times. Very fun car in the snow. Cool thread, here is my list..1st - 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham - Bought in 1980 (first year driving.)2nd - 1977 Porsche 924 Bought in 1982 (kept about 6 months it was yellow and it WAS a lemon)3rd 1982 Camaro Z-28 - bought new with Crossfire injection engine (whoopie)4th 1978 Chevette - bought in 1984 (owned concurrently with Camaro, i took this one to college and left the Camaro at home.)5th 1984 Pontiac Fiero - gave the chevette to brother for school and got a fiero for a 'winter' car, not a wise move this was in 87.6th 1988 Camaro Iroc-Z with the 350 "vette" engine. Sold the 82 Z-28 and traded the Fiero in on this one. 7th 1990 Chevy Beretta GTZ. 8th 1991 Hyundai Excel SE (Got married this year and bought a house had to drop car payments Oh well.)9th 1991 Dodge Daytona (here's where it got messy) traded the Hyundai in on a 1994 Grand Am for my wife and took over driving her car (the Daytona).10th 1997 Dodge Stratus (traded the Daytona in on this before it hit 100K) 11th 1994 Pontiac Grand Am (I told you it got confusing, I traded my Stratus in on a 1998 Pontiac Transport for my wife and I took over her Grand Am)12th 2000 Pontiac Sunfire - traded the Grand Am in on this. 13th 2004 Pontiac Vibe. 1969 Plymouth Valiant (slant 6 engine; the greatest ever built)

A white rusted 89 Cavalier Z24 2.8litre engine. One working electric window, leaking fuel lines (which took out my brake lines and forced me to fix them all) trunk didn't open period. Bought it for $600 canadian, sunk about $900 into it over two years before I gave up and sold it as is for $600.Engine and trans blew the next week on the guy I sold it to heh.

My first car was a purple 94 cavalier. Not my dream car by any stretch - but it was good to me. No major problems, always started in really cold weather (better than the Vibe, in fact )
