Well, Chrysler wasn't too bashful, they did come right out and admit they tore apart the Matrix and more or less used it as a benchmark for this car... I'm sure the Vibe inspired themm quite a bit as well, obviously it did at some point. So it isn't much of a mystery as to why they are so similar to what we have.

If I could afford it, i'd definitely get the '07 Caliber SRT4.300hp? 6-speed? 19" wheels?

Theres always going to be a market for cheap cars! and trust me the Caliber is cheap in more ways than the price tag, besides thats why people buy them Hello there affordable, but I think its important to do your home work , or even have forums like these to imform the logical buyers of such quality in different cars as for the Vibe we all know how well the qualtiy is thats why we bought them and why as of today still have had no major problems and if so can not complain just great all around , and hate to say it but the new little econmy cars chevy and dodge have are no where near as nice in over all quality as the new fit and yaris

The fit and yaris are nice, but I don't want a little 100hp putt-putt mobile because it's 'Cheap'.

I went on a buisness trip last week and the rental car company gave me a Dodge Caliber for the week. Let me tell you, after a week of driving it....yea its a piece of dung compaired to the Vibe. I had the base model Caliber and even though it had a 2.0 litre engine it lacks like so many have said before. I punched the gas a few times and heard the RPM's rev up and it felt like the tranny was waiting for something as it didnt go anywhere. The inside has a very cheap and plastic feel to it.....felt worse than a Neon. Im not sure why they did it but the dash is freekishly long...almost 2' in length and yet it seems like most of it is just an air gap as the engine doesnt seem to go past the windshield(Im not a car expert) The sliding armrest was more of a pain than a comfort as it would constantly slide back and forth when I rested my arm against it. The little Ipod holder is only good for just an Ipod it seems...so if you dont own an Ipod the compartment is rather a waste as it doesnt hold much else. The inside as a whole seems rather cramped and rear visibility is sub-par with the small and narrow rear windows. As for the glovebox beverage cooler...all it is is a vent that blows air from the cockpit vents into the glovebox so if you dont have the AC on it doesnt function like you would hope.....yet another waste of space and design if you ask me. Yea I dont see myself wanting to trade in my Vibe for the Caliber anytime soon

1 parked next to me in a parking lot the other day and I took a look at it. I was very disappointed with the appearance/quality/material/design of the interior. It really made me wonder if I would want the SRT, but if they change the interior that would def be a +!

re: how its selling:the rockford paper (caliber is built outside rockford in belvidere) said for the first four months its behind the pace set the first four month of the neon but trending upwards

Thats probably because Dodge is actually doing quite a bit of marketing for the Caliber......something GM should do for the Vibe because Vibe > Caliber.

The Calibers from afar look nice, but once you get up close they look cheap. Too much plastic.

The CX-7 is much less expensive than the X3 or Touareg.Interesting to see what Vibe owners think of the Caliber. Like those here, I don't care for the interior. Handling also heavy, numb, and clumsy compared to the Vibe, which feels lighter and more agile. My site's page for the Caliber includes a link to my full review:http://www.truedelta.com/models/Caliber.php

For those of you still curious about the Caliber, you should read what kind of mileage results new Caliber owners are posting:http://www.caliberforums.com/f...t=880Not as good as the Vibe, and not quite meeting the EPA specs either.

Ha ha, there's an ex-Viber there. Right on. Those Calibers seem to be getting higher mileage than my Vibe did.

Here's what Dodge stuck in my emailbox today:They're sticking to the "bad boy" marketing scheme. Maybe on the outside, but I'm still not impressed with the interior.

First of all, that ex-Viber (MrTyke) stated that his Vibe "definitely got better mileage/gallon" SO, THERE! Secondly, there's no argument that you got a lemon, CP, but most of us perform at or above EPA estimates. Since I got the ScanGauge, my last three tanks have averaged almost 31 mpg (and that's with an auto).SO THERE AGAIN!!

I wasn't commenting on his gas mileage, I was commenting on how a Viber dumped their car and bought such an allegedly suck-(removed) transportation appliance as the Caliber. He did admit to getting better fuel economy, I wasn't commenting on that.I still haven't checked one out though, I really need to to see what all is wrong with them. I guess I'm still with the mindset of "it can't possibly be any worse than MY (old) Vibe!" hehehe! I need to find some money and rent one of the damn things so I can see how suck-(removed) they really are. For the gas mileage, I'm glad you guys are doing well. Yes I got a lemon, but when new and allegedly non-dysfunctional it still didn't do that great. I've fixed that though, I'm getting ~8-10 more MPG than I was before for my commute.

I'm not at all impressed with the Caliber after seeing it in person, there is a Bright Bright yellow one here in town that this kid at Pizza Hut has now to deliver pizza's and gross. I still can't wait to see the SRT4 Caliber because I really like how agressive it looked at the detriot autoshow, but after seeing that flimsy as interior no way in hell will I consider buying it now.

We're hoping to, but after I subscribed to my350z.com and read how many people are blowing their engines and how the auto tranny can only handle 600hp, I don't know how much trust I can put into the info I was given on them being able to make 900+hp out of the VQ35, and its time I stop making stupid choices. Wheither i pick a Z and put G35 seats in it, or break down and decide to buy the Z I'v been talking with Shariff@forged about setting me at 500 for the track, and 350ish for street. after getting the chance to ride in a boosted Z 500hp is plenty to take on the 2 cars I'm worried about at family reunions when we meet at the track. but I'm also not gonna be getting anywhere if this good for nothing lawyer I hired won't get off his (removed) and do his job...I'v had him for 2+ months now and he still hasn't even begun to get anything done as far as getting my medical bills paid or getting my medical recors. though he has warned AIG that I have an attorney now, woo hoo. here's a stack of my medical bills just from march that I took with my brothers camera phone when I was bored and sorting through stuff when he was over here the other day. and a pic of my SS Silverado for those who needed the 'proof'. and my baby that I can never ride again thanks to my back...(excuse the mess, we were trying to clean out the garage so I could attempt to install a system in my brothers truck but that didn't get too far.
