ok to the guy with the type -r's ...... NO WAY. i competed for 2 years with my vibe gt. loudest i got with 12's..... 142. i switched to 15's got 158.7 db's and yes i have the pink slip in safe keepings. and no i don't currently have access to it. those type-r's cannot physically muster the pressure to create 147 db's in a vibe. i was hitting that with my first setup of 15's with 1000 watts on 200 watt subs. now meters have been know to quirk or be "off" and need to be calibrated again. im not saying you didn't do it on the meter. but i'd pay for you to do it again on a bk legal on the dash.

And I agree with most of this, although I was trying to be less confrontational about it. Some meters have been known to be off by over 5dB...even the Bruel & Kjaer meters are no longer the standard. I would be interested in the reading on the newest term-lab meter on the dash so we could all see the real spl generated from the Alpine 10's.I would also be intersted in seeing some pics of the 158.7 dB vibe GT as well because in order to reach those levels, you must have put about 500+ pounds of dynamat in there and seriously welded in a cage to keep the energy from escaping. I have been on spl teams in Arizona and southern CA and to achieve anything in the mid 150's and above it took a TON of power, truckloads of deadening/damping material and structural bracing. Not to mention the amount of work done to the electrical system.

FrostyGT That's a sweet lookin system you have, all in one. I like it.Here is my setup: Two 10" Kicker competitions, 800watt Kenwood amp, Audiobahn tweeters, and 1.5 farad cap (made some custom aluminum brackets on the good ole bridgeport to mount the cap through the carpet like that I've had the setup for a couple years and it's all running smoothly. I bought the subs from Inder a while back. Took them out to move some stuff and wondered how the H*LL I EVER survived with the stock system. I have not changed out the speakers yet though because they are sufficient for me and I do not fee like messing around with a second amp to power them

Well dig it.........if anyone is interested or crazy enough to own it......I would sell the system out of my rig. You MUST have a strong heart to be in the thing and not care about the fact that it weighs in around 400 pounds. I am looking for the next challenge. Anyone interested? Show me $3500 and you get the whole shmear except the deck and wires. Anyone, Anyone????

How are getting 3.4dB louder than my loudest reading on the system I am running now (maybe I should shut my jealous trap huh?) I have TWO of the T2 rockford 12" with 1200 watts RMS to EACH sub for 2400 watts RMS to the box. The box was expertly designed and built. I have been in the audio business for 18 years now and am surprised by the reading you got...a contact of mine in the industry locally has the alpine type "r" 10's in a sweet setup and the best he could muster was 138.1 at the dash. He has a 1000 watt monoblock to EACH sub also. So c'mon....what is the secret? Post the Termlab sheets so I am convinced I am not crazy. The problem is that your running RockFord

I wish there was someone local who would let me blow some money on their vibe and build them a system just so I can hear it again.
