You can probably make some extra cash on the deal if you upgrade your Vibe to be closer to the 2005 configuration. GM apparently thinks it is more desirable that way. How much do you think you can get for the roof rack cross bars, console lid, and console power outlet?

POP QUIZ!Which of the following vehicles costs Ragingfish the MOST to insure?(A) 03 Pontiac Vibe(B) 06 Pontiac G6 GT (coupe or sedan)(C) 06 Pontiac G6 GTP (coupe or sedan)(D) 06 Pontiac SolsticeThink you know the answer? Scroll down. The answer is:(A) 2003 Pontiac Vibe.Yup. I got quotes from the insurance company today. The car that is oldest, and has the smallest engine, costs more on my insurance then ANY of the new ones I'm looking at. Yup. I was shocked too.

i don't know. it costs me about $15/month less on my insurance for my brand new $30K LGT than on my 03 VGT. same covereage and everything! they told me it was because of all the safety features on the LGT. but i know the vibe was very safe too.

At the Ohio Meet a couple weeks back, Nick and myself was looking over the G6 Sedan GTP. That would be my pick from the G6 lineup. After the price shock for the GTP is was back looking at the 05 GTO's Good luck Mike.btw, insurance for the GTO is only $46 more than the vibe for a year.

Unless you consider 18mpg and no real trunk a disapointment, but I bought mine as a car for sport and not utility. Sum it up it is one heck of a fun car to drive and the interior quality is better than any GM car that I have ever seen, but it is best as an occasional driver or in my case my work car as I live 3 miles from work.

Called my dealer Saturday, they told me their first Solstice was due the day before, so it will roll in any day now. As soon as that comes in, I get first dibs to check it out...and then we can start cutting to the chase and finalizing this ever so long and drawn out process.

Why are you in such a hurry to find out? He hasn't told any of us thus far, nor has he given any of us even the slightest indication of what specific route he may be pursuing... What we know is what you know, and that's that. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that signs point to a big fat no that he's going to tell you... Just stay tuned, we'll all find out soon enough.

So it sounds like you are leaning on the Solstice... what happens if you don't like it after a test drive? You've de-modded your Vibe... will you try for something else?

Which is why my dealer is letting me "sneak a peek" at the first model they get in. It's already been promised to a customer, but they're allowing me to check it out before they deliver it, to help me with my decision. If I don't feel it's right for me, then the decision becomes either the G6 Coupe or Sedan. Between those two, I'm leaning towards the coupe. It's all hinged on how I feel about the Solstice though.

Skip the Solstice, and get the G6 GTP coupe. I think that would be the best "all-around" vehicle after the Vibe.

Aww, I wasn't trying to be mean. Just bein' honest. Mike, OTOH, I'm still wondering if he's lying to us? Wow, that's quite a bit of difference between the G6 coupe and sedan with the 3500 in terms of mileage... What is the difference in gearing between the two anyway? Must be pretty substantial to have that much of a difference. I'm guessing the coupe is geared toward a bit more performance, thus the lower mileage... Does the coupe weigh more as well?

But I think it is LEAPS AND BOUNDS ahead of what Pontiac had in the Grand Am.Anyway...My patience with Wilmington is growing ever so thin. If that Solstice doesn't hit my dealer's lot by next week, I'm officially giving up, and going down, and buying a G6 variant.I'm sick of waiting...and frankly, now that ALL of my toys are out of the Vibe, I hate driving it.
