Didn't really notice it, but I didn't drive it stock either. I kind of bumped up the HP a little, so I don't know if that had any effect or not. I'll play it again later today and let you know (if someone doesn't beat me to it)!

Logitech makes the steering wheel controller that IGN claims completes the GT4 experience along with an HD tv system and surroundsound hehe. The logitech wheel was suppose to be released with GT4 but since the game kept getting pushed back, eventually the wheel was released without it. They are claiming that the wheel acts just as a regular steering wheel would feel in a car traveling at high speeds, you feel the pull, the bumps in the road. I may have to get one sometime. Now for the license to earn to use in races. GT1 if you had B and A could be loaded into GT2. GT3 being on its own in the PS2 was not compatible but is GT3 completed tests transferable to GT4? Cause I have them all and it would suck to have to start over lol.But being able to mod cars you don't own just for a race in arcade mode sounds very cool... I'm so jealous of you guys. I should have had mine yesterday also.

As for the being able to mod cars for arcade mode, all you can do is a slight raise in HP and lower in weight. You can't do much else. You're missing out Mavrik!

With that money I'll be able to start out with better cars. In GT1, I started out with a pitiful nissan lol, earned my way up into owning a Camero, sold it for a Viper RT when I earned enough and went from there. Modded the Viper, earned more money and away I went. Well after getting another memery card so I could actually save a game since my other three are full, I started up GT4. Thanks to my awsome wife who bought it for me though now I owe her... funny how that works eh? Anyway... I copied over my GT3 B and A license info plus 100,000 credits to spend and spent some time looking over the cars. For like less then 100,000 credits in tuner town you can pick up modified cars already and there is a VW awd GTI in there with over 500HP, a great starter car so I'm going to get that one. You can also get Spoon cars in there, honda civics, S2000s as well as a really nice lookin Celica but they all start around 200HP. Honestly if you want to win rather then lose, find what you can afford that handles well and has a lot of HP to start with.I did mess around a little with the game before saving anything, spent the money on a black Vibe GT and installed an exhaust system, air intake, stage 3 turbo, unichip, nitros and a couple of other modifications. Its now running from a stock 180HP at whats now 316HP and I cleaned house in the Sunday Cup races, finished all of them and one me a 79 POS I sold for about 9,000 credits. But I have not even begun to look over all the cars to drool, a lot of the higher end cars cost over 200,000 credits and some you can't even buy but win after completing races. I did take the Vibe through photo and made some pretty cool pics IMO with back drops of Times Square and the harbor with the bridge to manhattin in the back ground.Very glad to see some of my old favs as far as courses go. I missed High Speed Ring from GT1 and Autumn mini as well. I spent like a day racing High Speed Ring earning money to buy better cars back in the 1998 days of GT1.

How many of you guys use the B-spec mode? I use it about as much as A-spec though if I know the course is really challanging and I just want the win, I'll B-spec it. Its fun, take a car, tune it up to be above the competition and you just give the car instructions on how you want it to drive. I usually have the car push with overpass on to get ahead of the lead car then either steady or fast with push on the straight aways to get some distance. I'm about 10% completed right now, which sucks in a way because you have to have 25% complete to begin the endurance and thats where I wanna go lol.

ALRIGHT KIDDIES.Sorry, trying to get your attention.I know they pulled the 'Online' out of GT4, but...oh..hohoh... Uncle Jahn has some tricks up his sleeve..If you have the network adapter, or the slimline PS2, we CAN play over the internet! I tested it, it WORKS. It might require some finagling computer-wise, but you don't have to modify anything on the PS2. Just get the network adapter, and download a program.http://www.teamxlink.co.ukI ran it last night and had the Vibe up against an FTO and an RX-7. If it weren't for my cablemodem suddenly lagging at the last lap, I would've had 'em!Anyway, now we can start GenVibe clans! The program is free, and if you need help setting it up, PM or IM me (I have AIM), and i'll see if I can't help you get it started.Sony might've taken away the Online option, but it never stops those who really want it!

I pre-paid and preordered the first one and was one of 4 in London Ontario who did not have to wait in line for ours. It would do the disc error thing maybe once every few months, usually I saw it when loading a Game Shark disc which I used for some games. I think I saw it only once loading in a PS2 Sony Game. I replaced it with a new one, not the slim PS2 but the regular full size one when it started making noises hehe. Over use I suppose. It may be time for a new one, the slim one for you and you can join the lan online game thing. That sounds very cool btw. But I don't see myself buying the slim PS2 when my current PS2 runs just fine even though I would love to race you guys in the Vibe Club. My Vibe has about 320HP, made as light weight as possible, everything you can buy for it, I have and installed on it. Well other then super hard racing tires, winters and snow tires.I came across two of the most incredible tracks yesterday. If you have a german made car, enter the European championship area and race in the Pan Euro Championship. Course 3 and 5 were simply amazing. The longest straight aways I had ever seen in the game. Course 3 is called Circuit de la Sarthe L, and course 5 is called Nurburgring Nordschiafe (if I spelled it correctly)Course 5 and I kid you not with average speeds of between 100MPH and 240MPH on very narrow grass lined course took me 15mins of racing and half a tank of fuel to complete 2 laps. Thank god it was only two laps lol. The whole one half of the course it winding curves, then the back stretch is all straight away for the other half. My car was going so fast I thought the wind was going to catch it up in the air it was bouncing so bad. I saved both replays, totally awsome. You gotta find those courses. I do not know if they are available in other areas yet, I have not looked. I'm at 13.5% completion now.

My Solution; bought a new style PS2 tonight.......I forgot I had some GM points left on my card from last year, so we hit Sam Goody.....I got the new PS2, and Teena got Resident Evil 4 (game cube), Resident Evil Outbreak (PS2) and a 2nd dance pad for DDR. I about pooped when I saw the new PSTwo for the 1st time......it's smaller than my PSOne! Quieter, and quicker loading too....network adapter built in....... so I took the network adapter off the old one (which still works, and probably can be fixed, I just didn't want to mess with it) and putting the network adapter on Teena's PS2 (old body). Scary thing is, I still had the orignal box, and the reciept where Teena bought it! $299 from Sony Direct.......paid half that for the new one tonight....Back on Topic....anyone else notice that YOU get a 5 sec penalty when one of the computer cars hits you? is that not BS???

Well I worked on the licenses so far, but I got all now. I have a queston. I guess something is wrong with my copy, because the picture shakes for a few seconds almost every time a race starts. Any body has the same problem? I cleaned the head, but nothing happened. So I guess I have to take it back to Wall-Mart to exchange it.

my screen seems to blur/vibrate/shake every now and then to usually at the start of a race. And no I never realised I got time added to my clock for being hit by other cars, natually I tent to be so far out in front its next ti impossible to be hit hehe. Thanks for posting a pic up of that course, its awsome to drive, rather narrow, two cars can barely drive side by side on that so passing is tough. And the road has so many chalk marks on it, very distracting the first time I drove it. The course is used in the VW Lupo cup challange as well, not sure why. My Lupo topped out at 140mph so the whole straight away sucked.Race the Nike car haha, actually I haven't yet but you can modify. I'm trying to get those fast mid engine rear wheel drive cars you can not buy. I figured winning one is cheaper then buying one, some of those are for over 2,000,000 credits.I have Resident Evil Outbreak, a fun game not not like the RE games before it I liked better. Though the Game Cube RE4 is coming to the PS2 so I'll have to get that. But back to GT4, has anyone done the photo mode? I took a few pics of some of my cars, am going to make a slide show with some music soon. You can print off pics you took as well. I'd rather use them as wallpaper though on my computer. But in photo replay mode of a race or a time trial, maybe I'm just not seeing it but hitting select puts you in photo mod where you can set one of 60something different angles to shot the pic, zoom in or out, move the camera. But HOW do you then take the pic?

I'm talking about in photo replay mode where you can pause a replay at any given place you wish and take a picture of the car. I did not see the red button like I did in Photo Mode where you place the car in a scene.*edit* finally figured it out, there is no red button, but you gotta set a shutter speed and then take the pic.

Mine jitters too before some races. It also seems to jitter sometimes when I round a corner and hit a long wide open straightaway with a lot of landscaping. It also jitters between some camera transitions on the replay mode. I've never had any problems with any other games on my PS2...weird. Here's another weird thing and I'm not sure if it's part of the game or not, but it's pretty frustrating. Every once in a while, if I get rear ended, the screen flashes between rear view/front view/etc then it all of the sudden jumps to different gears often pegging me against the fuel limiter without me pressing anything. I drive all my cars with a manual trans not auto.

Re: (Mase)

Posted: Tue Mar 01, 2005 6:36 am
by Mavrik
I wonder if the "jitter" has to do with the HD option that GT4 is recommended to run in. I mean GT4 pushed the limits beyond what anyone thought the PS2 was capable of. When mine does that little blur jitter thing its usually at a scene change in replay or the start of a race with a rolling start. I think it has to do with the game itself and maybe the tv/ps2 can barely handle it.I have never gotten rear ended and had the view change, but granted if your in automatic mode for gear select, being hit or hitting another car or wall will slow you down, causing the car to shift to a lower gear and rev the engine higher. So who has run out of fuel yet? haha. I used up half a tank in two laps on that HUGE german course.
