Sorry everyone . I worked quite a bit of overtime this past week and by the time I was leaving, it was dark out. On top of that I've been sick and then there's the small thing that I can't think of anything for a challenge .

I'll try to get something today...

Here is the next challenge
A picture showing your Vibe (or a vehicle you currently own) along with both a deciduous tree and a non-deciduous (evergreen) tree
In this case, to the left of the Vibe is an American Beech (Fagus Grandifolia) and to the right are several American Holly (Ilex Opaca) trees
The trees need not be identified, and the trees could be on a distant mountain in the background, as long as it shows both a tree somewhere that drops its leaves, and another somewhere that doesn't. Also, the picture could be anywhere between really high quality, or extremely low quality such as the one I posted

This is intended to be a relatively easy challenge. However, if you decide to meet this challenge, then you need to post the next challenge promptly. If you're the first to post up a picture you think meets this challenge, then assume you are "it" and post the next challenge without waiting for me to approve your response.

My mom and I came up with an idea earlier today, so I will keep it in mind for whenever I have to come up with a challenge again.

My sister's 03 Celica GT filled in for my Vibe in these shots. My Vibe isn't sick, I just needed to test out the Batmobile's winter tires.

For example: My Vocational Technical high school was deemed "unnecessary over 20 years ago by the Toledo Public School board (what were they thinking, or SMOKING for that matter, back then ) so they closed it and just recently demolished it. And my challenge came to me today as I was taking a photo to show my mom a new addition. I realized my car was in the picture nicely, so here is my challenge:

A photo of your ride at or near a highway memorial, bonus points if you know the story. I know this story because it's personal. Many of my friends here know that in August, I lost both grandparents in a horrible auto accident. They were as much my parents as my single mother is and a huge part of my life. Putting up and maintaining this memorial at the accident site is part of my healing process

So sorry to hear about your grandparents, Camogirl! Not sure this one counts ... probably not quite what you're looking for. I have no personal connection, but the story is - this roadside memorial marks where a German soldier named Konrad Treiber was killed at the end of World War 2, and buried where he fell (he was 17 years old).

OK, here is my challenge ... it may take awhile, but I think there are several places where this could happen. Take a photo of your ride in the driveway (or otherwise parked nearby, in view) of a national leader's residence. It can be a monarch, president, chancellor, dictator, whatever - any official national leader. It can be a current leader (if you can get anywhere near their driveway!) or a leader from the past. Must be an official residence where the leader lived. This, BTW, is the driveway to Adolf Hitler's house in the Bavarian Alps (the house is gone, the drive is still there ... the entrance, anyway).

Would the former United States Speaker of the House (3rd in line to be President) work? If so, I will get this picture and post my challenge ASAP!

Hmmmm... Current or former prime minister of Canada's home address? I can get that pic... Or at least a pic of what is there now!

Stephen Harpers Calgary home address is proving difficult to find... But I've found the correct street...
R. B. Bennett's (Prime minister 1930 - 1935) residence is now a skyscraper but he did spend many, many years living in the Fairmont Palliser hotel in Calgary.

But we'll see if someone can get a pic in front of 24 Sussex drive in Ottawa!

Here's my Vibe at the entrance to home and visitor center of Monticello, home of President Thomas Jefferson, in Charlottesville, Virginia. I had to park and ride a shuttle up to tour the house so no opportunity to get a photo of my Vibe in front of his house.

thank ya, i didnt even notice that almost all the cars in the pic were pretty much the same color. i wasnt happy bc when i left i saw a red 03-04 vibe, a sliver 09-10 vibe, and 2 silver 03-04 matrixs all parked in a little group when i was leaving and didnt get a chance to park with them and take a better pic. o well, i'll see if i can get a pic for this one before someone else beats me to it

Thanks! I saw your challenge last night and knew right away where I could go to get the radio station picture and I also knew I was going to do the water tower picture for my challenge. As soon as I left work today, I went and got the pictures. I was just hoping no one had beat me to it .

And for the next challenge.. not much of a challenge but I thought it would be appropriate. Take a picture of your Vibe outside your favorite local auto repair shop. Here is mine outside Christian Brother's Automotive. And as cool as it would be I don't think it's a Vibe in the "Electrical" bay, I think it's a Subaru.

well i wont be able to use my car, but i can get one of my room mates honda infront of autozone =p i gotta put a new starter in my vibe

and heres the challenge. put a pic of your vibe next to a really small or "city" car, like this fiat 500, or a smartcar, scion iq, aston martin cygnet, mazda 2, chevy spark, ford fiesta, ect. its just gotta be a really small car, smaller than the vibe, but i dont count hondas (perferrably a new tiny car). bonus points if its something that looks like a jelly bean, like this fiat =p
