Spot on at 28.8 mpg again this fill-up, despite changing to a K&N air filter the day I last filled up and no change in driving habits. The paper filter I took out was clean, though, so I guess that may explain some of that.

As an aside, I've never understood the Euro/Canadian L/100km measure. I thought the metric system was supposed to simplify things? Isn't k/L simpler?

OK ... Toledo to Orlando mileage: First tank lasted 370 miles & took 11.3 gallons = 32.7 mpg Second tank lasted 397 miles & took 11.7 gallons = 33.9 mpg. Third tank lasted 385 miles & took 11.6 gallons = 33.2 mpg. Total mileage 1152 & roughly took 17.5 hours drive time. Kept the speed 63 to 65 the entire trip. Drove through the night so I didn't get too many other drivers (99% of them passed me ) upset at me. Was a very comfortable trip Hopefully the trip back home will be fine also!

On the way back I may sacrifice mileage for time and "push the Vibe" a bit harder. That's just a lot of time behind the wheel
and I will be looking forward to home by mid week Going 5 -10 mph faster will get me home 2-3 hours sooner

That's true. I forgot about the evil winter blend gas . I hear ya about wanting to get home ASAP too.

Dead on at 28.8 mpg again when I filled up today. At least she's consistent!

OK so I'm finally back home in Toledo Mileage on the trip home: Tank 1 = 32.4mpg, Tank 2 = 33.1, tank 3 = 33.6

Total trip was 2357 miles driven in FIVE days. Total time driving = 36 hours! (17.5 there + 17.5 back + 1 around town in Orlando) My odometer is now at 16339

My all time mpg is now up to 28.44 and cost me $1746 in fuel so far Love this little car

23 mpg around town.....I am very happy with this, as I had an 08 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and was getting 15/16 mpg around town. I was missing the Jeep, but am really enjoying my Metallic red Vibe.
We just had a snow storm and even without snow tires the Vibe did great. My daughter named her (the Vibe) Cherry!
Very Cool!

My highway mpg @ 77mph avg for a ~1:15 long trip = 36mpg

This was just after replacing my IM gasket, installing a bored out TB, a Helix TB spacer, and K&N SRI

My 2004 vibe gt on this last tank of gas got 39 mpg not bat for having just under 240k on her. and thats with winter gas about 60% city

So I've started really paying attention to my mpg and driving style. I've consistently had 29 mpg, I drive to and from work about 70% of the trip on highway and I use my cruise control set at 65, sometimes 60 if I give myself the time. People pass me like crazy but I think it's worth it. Going to look into changing the spark plugs at my next oil change to see if it improves any.

Well, I've owned the Vibe for right at 18 months now, and have covered almost 30,000 miles with it. I've been driving my Ranger more, trying to keep from running up so much mileage on the Vibe, but the Ranger doesn't do as good on gas.

So far I've filled it up 101 times and have spent $3242.63 and my current running mpg average is 31.969. It will steadily increase from now thru the summer as the summer blend gas yields much better mileage. I'll report again in late summer when I have bragging rights to some really good mileage numbers.

I just did my first fill up today and so far it looks like I'm getting around 28 mpg. I did do a lot more city driving than usual this week but I also drive on the hwy every day as well. I will update with more info next time I fill up!

Been holding steady at 28 MPG city at 150,000 miles. When i have my weeks where I do more highway driving I can see an increase in MPG. So its close to the factory combined MPG. Im happy

The fuel economy stays outstanding. I've been driving back and forth to Seattle for the last few weeks and am getting
34.7 MPG in our 2006 Vibe 1.8L, automatic, no engine mods, 90% Hwy 10% city driving.

This is almost the best mileage ever: On 100% highway driving last year it got 36 MPG on state highways and the interstate.

This recent 30 cents per gallon increase here on the West Coast is questionable. Massive pumping from our expanding oil fields in the Dakotas are booming and Canada supplies huge amounts of crude. A few refineries are down for maintenance, we're switching to summer blend, normal stuff.

Using more ethanol up to E85 doesn't save me money -- I have to use an expensive "ethanol killer" in the gas to negate its higher combustion temperatures and drying out of the seals in all the engines we use. And now we're a net importer of ethanol, so how does that help us? Besides driving corn prices higher here. Sorry, had to gripe a little, gas prices are a never-ending cycle that generally trend upward even as we discover more oil here in our backyard.
