Well just before he long weekend up here it was $1.31 per litre. What does that work out to per gallon? A recent goverment study found out here that we are being gouged officially by the oil companies t...they felt that consumers are now accustomed to the high preices and will never come down even though there is no need for these prices (more profit). You heard right the oil companies up here admitted to gouging the consumers.

A couple hours before they intend to raise the price of gas, they'll shoot you a text message and let you know.

http://www.meijer.com/text/It works awesome, and is pretty accurate, you only get a text when its a big change i think like 10 cents or more. it has saved me some money a couple times. if it is going up, you get the text by about 1030 in the am, and it says to get it before 130 pm3.48 in gr. we have the highest (or did) prices in the country besides hawaii...IT SUCKS

I paid $1.039/liter yesterday for regular which works out roughly to $3.94/gallon. So you guys south of the border are getting a pretty good deal still, because the last guy that posted said he was paying $2.85/gallon which is like .75c a liter.

Food for thought: In 2006 the oil companies made an average of 10 cents per dollar on the price of gasoline. The U.S. Government made 18 cents per dollar. I would suggest that perhaps the American people are directing their anger in the wrong direction when it comes to who is making the bigger profit. I hear certain politicians scolding the oil companies for their "greed", but I have yet to hear any of them offer to cut the federal gasoline tax.

The oil companies don't build roads. I am fond of roads. They make driving so much more convenient. Maybe we could kill the gas tax, let all the roads go to crap, and then people would drive less. I see the ecological benefit you are advocating, but I am too selfish to want to eliminate roads just to cut down on people's use of petroleum. Maybe there is another way. On 6/12/07, I paid 2.899/gallon US for 87 octane.

Down as low as 3.039 frim 3.199 several days ago. I am holding out for 2.999 [less my 5% gas card discount) . Have a 60 cent a gal on one fill up at Giant Eagle that expires 11-30-07 too.I really think that at $3+ people start curtailing their driving.
