Without sounding like I'm rude, I think it would be much better to post a list of several fillups and mileage at a time rather than posting one here, one there, scattered throughout the thread. It would be much easier for other readers of the thread to get some idea of what you are doing if a whole bunch of fillups are easily found and compared in one post.
That said, my "lifetime" average (bought the car in late September of 2011) has steadily improved all summer, and now stands at 32.124 mpg over 66 fillups and nearly 20,000 miles of driving. I expect the mileage to begin a steady decline with the winter gas starting in a month or so. I had two road trips this summer that helped raise the mileage.
You can find a blank, ready to use Excel spreadsheet I created at this link.
download/file.php?id=74
My original post with the spreadsheet and some info on using it are found here...........

I get what you're saying and you're right. I'll start posting all the info like I have on my Car Domain pages. I edited my previous post accordingly.

I actually find this more annoying. I don't like going back and checking a persons previous post to see if they updated it especially if the thread is several pages long. I guess its just a matter of personal preference.

My actual thinking was fewer posts. Occasionally post the most recent 5 or ten fill ups, and show if this average of the fill ups is improving over your previous average. This gives the reader current information, which varies with weather conditions, and other factors. and keeps the reader from having to backtrack in the thread.
I realized the Vibe was not easy to fill consistently and early on was experiencing wild swings in mileage calculated from one fill up. This seems to be more stable recently, possibly I'm getting a feel for filling the tank, but the spreadsheet is the ultimate method to keep track of mileage and why it varies (different brands of gas, ethanol or not, busy station with fast moving inventory, or small station with slow moving inventory, etc)
I track the average by a mean (mathematical average) which proves to be higher, and median (individual averages arrayed from high to low, and picking the one in the middle) which is a lower number.
My mean average is 32.124 mpg and my median is 31.747 mpg
66 fill ups in the past year (bought it on 19 Sept 2011) and total cost of gas so far is $2,159.73 and right at 20,000 miles driven.
This is largely road driving. I live in the country and rarely get into city traffic for more than one or two miles and a few traffic lights. Its either 50-60 mph on state and county roads, or 70-75 mph on the interstate. I'd say that less than 20% of my driving is below 45 mph.
Long term averages are much more useful info to the reader than mileage from one or two fill ups.

Winter blend fuel is upon us in the Atlanta area now, I see the mileage dropping, possibly as much as 1½ mpg, so my average is starting to drop as it appears the last two, if not three tankfulls were winter blend.
We'll see what it looks like later in the winter.

I remember reading somewhere that here in the Chicagoland area, stations start using the winter blend fuel around the middle of September. As you can see by my mom's mileage info below, we're starting to see the drop as well...

I don't have it fill up by fill up - but I do around 30 with 50/50 driving. BUT on all hwy if I keep it at 55 I'll get 36mpg.

Break-in mileage, 100% city, heavy throttle stop and go, 100kms of 4wd: 179.2kms on 30L - 16.7L/100kms or 14mpg (I am/was well aware of what I could expect mileage wise when I purchased it...) and these studded winter tires are not made for economy...

Well, gas mileage stinks when pulling a fully loaded trailer! We moved my aunt up north 170 miles to Nacogdoches Tx. on Saturday. With a fully loaded 5x8 U-haul trailer, with several boxes and 3 people in my 10 Vibe GT, I got
16.48 MPG. I stayed around 60 MPH the whole time. On the way back, with just the unloaded trailer, I got 19.98 MPG. I probably would have gotten better mileage towing with our Exploder, as it gets 23-24 hwy fully loaded with luggage and passengers, but U-haul won't rent to Explorers.

WOW.. I'd say you are up for the WORST mileage of any Vibe on this site

At least you successfully accomplished what you set out to do .... MOVE a ton of stuff!

With my Corolla engine, I am now down to 30 mpg in suburban driving. That is down 3 mpgs with the winter gasoline. In a week or two, I will fill you in on whether that number goes up with the new timing gear actuator (whatever that thing does)

I might be able to give him a run for his money:
03 Vibe Automatic FWD
AVG 19 MPG 100% city
Over 6 months I'm averaging 19 mpg. This is 100% city driving. And by city driving, I mean 99% stop and go; never above 30mph. Also, 90% of my trips are 10 minutes or less

My old 99 Corolla gave me 23mpg under these conditions, so I was hoping the vibe would be similar, but I guess there's nothing you can do with that extra 500 lbs.

571.5 on 86.94L - 15.2L/100kms or 15.5mpg $0.969/L Work and back... and cold

Ouch

! The lowest MPG we've ever gotten on either one of our Vibes was
22.929. At least you know it was only because of the trailer and all. It would
really suck if you were getting that kind of mileage all the time with normal driving
