And now they want to know if we would want to have any sort of scoops or style to it.Yes, I'm PISSED! 4 months of waiting and getting the run around for a hood that VIS already has for $200 less then what JSP is charging.I'm still going to try to help them and who ever doesn't mind waiting on getting the hood we wanted. Like I said earlier, I want to have a unique hood and I since the ATR turbo kit should be done next week I don't have to worry about having to pay for both the turbo and the hood at the same time.its the turbo for the 1zz or 2zz?

From what I've read, it's for both! They used the 2zz Matrix, Celica GTS, and Celica GT. They said it's only some minor mechanical changes and tuning the E-manage that would be needed for the 1zz Matrix/Vibe.

The Matrix XRS goes on the dyno Monday. They were estimating around 220hp and 200ft/lbs on 7psi of boost. I'll get back to ya.

Holy revival Batman! Yep, so a comment on another thead prompted me to call JSP America and I talked to Linda. She just told me that they have the hood test fitted, they had some issues with getting a company to manufacture the hood, and that it is supposed to be in on the 13/14th of Feb! I was shocked, she had all my info right there still and that I had left a $50 deposit via paypal. She had my adrress and all, so I guess they have something in order there! I guess I'll hold out and get it, but my wife will kill me! She said it will be something like $440 before shipping. It is the black M-style carbon fiber hood (she even had down that I had requested silver!). We'll see, but this better not suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(removed)....sorry I reminded you.I really was looking forward to this hood but to be honest with you, when the scheduled shippment date had finally come I didn't have enough money to buy it anyways (removed)!I'll wait and see what happens with yours first and maybe I'll by the hood and hold off on the rims! I've been seein lots of CF hoods lately and I am loving them very much.

I'm kinda excited all over again. Of course YOU live in warm climate. I would have to take the hood off in the winter...I envy you people soooo much.

Man, I thought that project was long dead and buried. I've actually been looking at getting a new hood or having mine 'modified'. My work hours are temporalily shorter so I shoud be able to call them and see if I'm still on thier list, too.It would be nice if it actually turns out.

So what are the chances we get pictures of this "finished" hood? Even better, pictures of the thing ON A VIBE?

You know this 'release date' (Feb.14th/15th) will be exactly 1 year since Havoc came on and started this group buy! By the way, have you heard anything more?

#2.Here is the email I got from Linda:Hi Jason-Pix attached. Hoods are scheduled to arrive week of 2/13 and we have 5 coming. As soon as they arrive and are inspected, I will call the members of the group buy to see who still wants them. We currently show 4 people still in so there will be 1 extra hood for whoever wants it. They will all be black carbon fiber. We also have the sample which has a ¾†V shaped mark in the clear coat near the center of the vent which we will sell for $400 + frt “as is†if someone wants and will not be showing their car. We recommend hood pins be used with all our hoods. Call us with any questions. Linda PluffJSP America

It doesn't look good with the '05 front end.It would look much better with the '03 - '04 front end.The hood has the same feel as the '03-'04 front end.

Ok, I called them today. I'm back on the list. I might take the damaged one. She said it looks like there was a hair in the clear coat and someone pulled it out. She said it looks like its in the clear coat rather than the actual carbon fiber so my friend MAY be able to fix that up for me. I'm excited again

Damn been sooo long since I've postedIronic that I just happen to check this thread out of sheer curiousity and it happens that the hoods are made (granted they aren't the design we originally agreed on). I kinda want some sideview shots of the hood before I decide to get my $50 back or actually buy the hood. The prospect of buying the hood is looking better now since my friend just inherited his uncles BBQ sauce plant (they're making good bprofit margins too) and I am the new CFO so I'll have moocho bank roll

Well congrats.Washed my car for the first time this season by hand and to my surprise....MY PAINT IS COMPLETELY MESSED UP. I thought I was lucky evading all these paint problems people on the forums were complaining about but I gues it just took longer for mine to show through. The rear left quarter panel the guy repaired after I hit that firehydrant last year, the clear is starting to peel!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My hood is an absolute mess from rocks and that darn golf ball that not only cleared the 500yd mark but also the 100ft fence and hit me doing 45mph (removed). So needless to say I am definately buying this hood now. Carbon fiber is harder to scratch and less noticable since it is not grey under the clear

Now I wish I had put in on the list as planned. I want to replace my factory hood and the CF hoods look sweet!!!! On another note: does anyone know if the trix hoods fit the vibes, or are the front ends too different? I found a few hoods on sportcompactonly.

The trix hood is entirely different. Very little external sheet metal is consistent between the two cars.

Talked to Linda today. She said she is expecting them next week, that they are on the way from Toronto to Vancouver or something to that effect. She said she still has to get freight rates for them after they get in, but that there should be enough for everyone who wants one to get one.

Jason ask Linda if they have any more pics of the hood, like side shotsI'm a little hesitant to get the hood if the ridge in the front looks bizarre from the side like most monster style (M-style) hoods do

Make sure the edges are rolled! If they are cut you might have a problem with chips! Make sure you get a really good clear coat on these hoods. It's like everything else, you will get chips and scratches in the hoods. Are the bottoms finished? You might want to check on that to.

Well I just called and I'm taking the test hood for sure. I could have sworn I requested my deposit back but according ti Linda it shows the deposit is still there so that means I don't have to pay as much Allways good news. She said they will be in end of next week and she was hoping to get ALL of them shipped out by March I think she said. So if no one else has called there should still be one hood left.BTW, I have an idea of how I want mine painted once I get it in:

Just wanted to throw this out, since I probably won't be able to get this after waiting over a year, thanks to my engine blowing, but has anyone tried to contact them and see if they came in and get the details someone posted earlier regarding the build? Like I said, just wondering, as I won't have enough money now since I have to spend $700 for an engine and my wife spent a bunch of money getting herself a laptop for her school.
