Well, that's just like me... start something then forget all about it. Anyway, truly a fine lot of photos that have been posted lately! Here's my latest submission. I decided to try something a little different when I processed this one from the raw file... still can't decide if I like it or not. I'm not usually a fan of the hyper-natural look of super saturated colors but I suppose it kind of works here. Standing Alone:

Here is one I took Saturday night when I went for a night sail: This is on the Rhode River in Maryland, soon after we were out on the bay enjoying some sailing in perfect 10-15 knot winds. We got back around 1am.

I love the mountain shots, too bad the "mountains" out here in VA are more like big hills in comparison. I get quite a few sunset photos. Here is one from the weekend before last:

It's been a while since I posted in here. I've taken a few new photos lately but due to some personal issues I've been kind of sidelined. I'm getting back into it now though so hopefully I can pick up where I left off.

My latest post. A late-30's model John Deere Model B.First time I've done the cliche part B&W/Part color thing but I screwed up the exposure on the sky and this was really the only way to salvage the image.

Here is a timeline showing four photos I took of the lunar eclipse on 02.20.08. The pictures aren't that great since I took them with my little hand held digital camera on max zoom without a tripod.PlatinumVibe08

Nice timeline! You know, I have to say for handheld no matter WHAT the zoom, that's impressive. But more impressive is the amount of detail you can still see in the moon.

I visited the site of the Heart Mountain Relocation Camp today in northern Wyoming. Talk about a rather somber place. Of course the condition of the buildings contributes to that, but just realizing that this was one of the sites where hundreds of American citizens were interned against their wills just because of the actions of one country...This was the power station in the camp. It's one of the few buildings that actually remains at the site. Heart Mountain is seen in the background.

Nice one, Zion! What the heck, I'll go ahead and throw another up here... taken this weekend in northern Wyoming. I was trying to find a way into the McCullough peaks that did not require an offroad vehicle. No dice. Those routes have been closed.

Here are the remains of an old gold mine in the Arizona desert it was called the Monte Cristo. The building on the left still has the huge winch that pulled the ore carts up the steep tracks on the right side of the picture.
