I saw on CNN last night that some stations in Georgia were charging almost 6 buck per gallon. I saw the sign myself. After this is over, I think they should go after those price gouging crooks.

yea they showed yesterday morning some parts in georgia are over $7.00. They are investigating to see if its certain stations or all over because they are running out of gas. My dad said local news says we are running low on fuel now too. time to break out the rollerblades, tape, and bottlerockets.

I went to pre-admission for surgery tuesday and when I was leaving I got a call from a friend, there is a gas station owner in town that is selling his fuel for $2.73 a gallon until he runs up, he said its bull$hit to raise prices on fuel thats already been purchased laying on the ground and he's not gonna be one of them. I'm glad to see there are still some honest people still left in the world today. Needless to say I had my brother drive over there and fill my truck up while we could still get it at a decent price.

Really, all we need is *one* station such as that per town. Stay at that price and before you know it, PRICE WAR!!!

There's one here doing that too. They have theirs at $2.88 (middle grade). The store right across the street is a full $.10 more expensive. We'll see how long that lasts though. I'm actually amazed to see that gas here has stayed as cheap as it has. We normally get nailed on fuel prices and we have 2 refineries in town and 1 just 15 miles away (I know that doesn't really make any difference, but it seems like it should).

I filled up before taking off on a trip this morning for $2.99 a gallon, 87 octane. The damn thing sucked down 1/4 of a tank rather rapidly, ran like crap too... Filled it up at 3/4 and it took $17.00, a whopping 24-ish mpg, all highway. I'm not sure what was in that crap gas I bought earlier, I guess they're diluting it with 50% petrol and 50% urine, then charging me out the wazoo for it.If I have to finance a friggin' tank of gas, I at least expect quality fuel from those asshats in the oil industry... Not sure if you guys have noticed it, but I have - as the price goes up, the quality of the fuel has done nothing but gone down the crapper... Or is that just me?

Sadly, I'm gonna have to fill up tomorrow, and I don't know what it's at anymore. That was back on the first. It will have been 4 days. Should be around $4 the way prices have been going up. *sigh*

when I officially picked up my Vibe, it had 216 miles, it now has 463 and isnt yet at the halfway mark, its a little under halfway between the first quarter mark and half. Thank God for a car with decent gas milage, I was using half a tank just going to work and back in my old car, in this one I drove it home (about 35 miles), drove it around alot (about another 15), then drove it to work and back (53 both ways for about 106), took it to evensville and played around in it today (about another 10), still not half a tank... wooo!!! Not bad for an AWD, and especially since I looked down today (my first real day behind its wheel) and realized I was doing 95 in a 55(oops...)and its really good considering gas is was as high as 3.99/gal here. Its down to around 3.45 now, but still :-/

I paid $2.639 today (lowest local price since Katrina hit), but Indy-area prices range from $2.499 up to about $2.699 according to the TV.Now watch them hit $5.00 as Rita approaches the Texas/Louisiana refineries early Saturday morning!

there was a Shell station that had $2.59 on Thursday, then $2.79 Friday morning and 3 hours later $2.89 and this seems to be the cost.on a side note: we had lots of people up from Houston to escape Rita and there were LONG lines at every station and many were sucked dry... or at least thats what the stations say. ** cynical look on face **

Gas shot back up to $3.00 a gallon for 87 octane here. It had been fluctuating from the $2.50-something range to $2.80-something.
