It's the same thing out here Jerry, although we're still under $4.00 at least... for now anyway . It's gone up drastically over the past couple weeks after it was getting down near $3.00 a gallon at the end of last year .

Paid $4.19 for mid grade in Franklin Park, IL last weekend.

regular is 3.79 here and i need to fill up with diesel tonight at 4.19. Cant wait to get the Vibe! the diesel will barely leave the garage then unless its needed.

Answer. Since 2008 or so (not sure on the exact date) the EPA implemented a stricter mandate on emissions from diesel powered vehicles. Thus the refineries had to pass the blend through YET another process to remove (whatever) and then the end result was a cleaner fuel. I know of this because my bro-in-law who owns his own roofing business, purchased a couple of F-350 trucks back then for his business. He intentionally went with diesel trucks because it was cheaper in the long run. Well little did he (or any of us for that matter) know that the fuel feeding those diesel vehicles was about to get a HUGE spike in costs. That's what I was told. Hope this clears up some of the confusion

It is officially the MOST I have ever paid for gas... $4.19/gallon. It makes no sense to me why Michigan has the second highest gas prices in the country right now (second only to Hawaii). Maybe it is because we are the Motor City and we have no public transportation to speak of whatsoever? I guess I am glad I am driving the 30 mpg Vibe instead of the 14 mpg Jeep.

Holy cats, $4.19 is pretty harsh! $3.30 here in Missouri. Our state gas taxes are pretty low but that's a big gap!

Gas prices were slowly going down around here, but for whatever reason, they are now going back up and are currently just under $4.00 .

Yep ...... Just last Thursday I filled up for $3.22 and the next day it shot up to $3.89 .... EVERYWHERE Now it will slowly drop again, only to see another huge spike in price. I just don't get it

The $1.449/L equals roughly $5.47/gal.... So think about that if you decide to make BC your roadtrip destination...

We must have dodged a bullet as the Toledo area stopped @ 3.99 No other stations that I passed by were over that mark. Now , two days later, we're already dropping ................... down to 3.83 at this one generic station known for the lowest price in town.
