A 1/4 mile north of the host hotel. On the east side of the road. We were trying to get car washes or coupons from them. We still may. Lol

Also, sheetz has car washes and we have niagra car washes all over Erie.

I think econolodge is right next to the host hotel. Same parking lot. Lol

I've haven't been on here in a looooong time! We won't be going, no passport and we're camping/fishing that entire week. We'll think about the next one, would be a great time!

My dad just booked my hotel room! Woohoo! Although, I think we got a better deal, since he works for Best buy, travels a ton, and we're AAA members. The store manager in Erie gave the hotel a great review.

C'mon Carrie! You can make it! Camping would be cheaper, if necessary. And there are plenty of us who would be willing to let you shower or watch TV in our rooms.


We should all bring walkie-talkies, and chat with each other on the highway and when we get there and are driving around.

We're looking at Hoss's for dinner Saturday, steak and seafood, with a salad bar. We were thinking of going the cliche' route of Quaker Steak or BW3, but thought everyone might enjoy a quieter setting. They have a room they will set aside for us, and my wife mentioned an automatic tip amount, but I forgot the exact number.

Anyway, the restruant is about 2 miles from the park, so, the drive shouldn't get too many lost. Lol
Afterward, we can head over to waldameer and get our coaster on if there is interest. I think they stay open until 10.

On my way there I'll be staying somewhere in Toledo for a night. Anywhere that you recommend, Tim?

Lots of affordable $40 & $50/night motels, but why Toledo? That is not your "halfway" point in the journey. The Chicago area I thought was going to be your pitstop. Toledo to Erie is just 3-1/2 hours more driving so I'd keep going. If you insist then I'll look into it. If I were going to be home you could stay at my place but we'll be in Erie. Let me know ....

I'm not looking for a perfect 50/50 split in travel days. I'll leave the 5th, stay somewhere in-between, and arrive in Erie the 6th, and have some time to muck about. I want a larger portion of the haul to be on one day. As-is it's a 12-14 hour ride, so if I can get 8-10 hours out of the way one day so the next can be more laid back, that's what I'm going to do. There's sights to see, streets to travel, and a Vibe which will need a cleaning. I had actually originally planned on Cleveland, but that's only an hour or so of a drive. THAT isn't worth it.

Ok, Ok, I committed, I booked Friday night and Saturday night.

I vote we have next year's down south for those of us that enjoy the beaches more than snow

It's good to see so many that enjoy this car. We're planning a trip to the nearby Jamestown, NY area a couple of weeks later so won't be able to make this one. Enjoy and post some pic's!

Getting close, I can't wait to meet everyone and see everyone's rides! Plus i love a road trip.
