we acttually had a guy buy a 360 here at one of the local malls and two hispanic people followed him home and once he got out of the car with the 360 in hand they hit him over the head and took the 360 and ran. man does that suck.

yea when i pick up my ps3 im bringing my weight lifting meat head friend with...and im driving around campus to make sure im not being followed actually, im buying 2 ps3's and selling one on ebay, i need tuition money!

yea depends on if any of my friends are going to wait in line. i am forsure pre-ordering one, the 2nd one i will either pre-order somewhere else (idk where i would in duluth all we have is gamestop i think) and then wait outside wal-mart, or best buy or target.

Check this out, I recently found out that one of my coworkers has anywhere from 10-15 360's! He had a hook-up at a local Best Buy who I guess was a GM that helped him acquire them. I asked him to sell me one as apparently he had quite a few left. I mentioned that they were supposed to be going on sale soon and this is his response: "You see, those are the kind of rumors that are driving down the prices on Ebay! When they first came out I was getting $2000(!!!!!) per 360, and now I'm lucky to get $600 a piece!" Then he wouldn't even sell me one when I offered him $500 so I wouldn't have to stand in line all night and find out I won't even get one! This is why people like me can't even get one abd others are making major $$$$ off this $h!t!

when these things launch, they need to limit ONE per customer.

Just I thought I'd throw this out there, I GOT A 360!!!! Spent from 1pm Sat - 8am Sun! It sucked a lot, but PSP in hand all night long, I got one! Hooked it up to my M-I-L's 50" HDTV, and NFSMW looks bad-@$$!

As I said in a earlier response... I got one on launch date (waiting in the sub-freezing temps for 13 hours) and now it is locking up repeatedly on NFSMW and Call of Duty 2. I just lost a 48 minute police persuit on NFSMW (unlocked a LOT of milestones) and it locked up completely before it could save my @#$%'ing game! It has done this quite a few times... anyone else having issues like this with theirs???

I have heard of some having these problems and others having none. They posted a phone number at the base that you could call and microsoft will overnight you a pre-paid box to overnight it to them, fix it or replace it the next business day, and overnight it back to you, all for nothing to you. It was something like 1-800-4MY-XBOX I think. Look or ask around before you try that!

hey freezing can usually be linked to the power adapter overheating. make sure its off the ground and nothing is really touching the bottom. have something hold it up like |_| to hold it up (a box?) and also make sure your disc's arent scratched. I would put a fan blowing on the power adapter and see if that helps and also call MS to get the xbox repaired.

Tried to prop up the power supply and put a fan on it... no help. Discs are brand new, so they aren't scratched *yet*. I will try that number and see if anything comes of that. I just don't want to lose my hard drive, all my saved games will be gone!?!

toasted - some xbox's had been scratching the games, thats why I asked. I hear MS hasnt been to bad on turn around time's for repairs, if it does it again id deff give them a call.

that is somewhat true, we test on all of the consoles where I work, and the new code we are seeing comming out for the 360 is already taxing the hardware. i would be more worried about hardware stability. the power pack is external, so the likleyhood of fire has decreased, but as with new all new hardware, there is going to be something.Even with the existing XBOX hardware there is something like 3 different releases.

Future shop sent out an email saying that on Dec 24th they'd have a limited number of 360s for sale. So my friend was going to go early to wait in line for one. Then late last night Future shop sent out another email saying "Whoops sorry, we dont have any." I'm not sure my friend got the email before she went to wait in line. Poopy Future Shop!!

theres like 6 revisions of the xbox going from 1.0 - 1.6 and for ps2 theres 14 versions. the 360 just needs some minor tweaks and i think it would be ok, like a fan in the power unit, rubber tab in the dvdrom tray so it doesnt scratch discs and maybe more cooling on the gpu. we'll see how long it takes them to make a second revision, hopefully not to long as more and more people are having issues

You'll have:1. More games2. Less hardware issues3. Lower purchase price4. Lower chance of getting robbed on your way to the car with your purchase.

LOL, you are in tune with the console market, what do you do?part of our partnership with MS is to report defects, suggestions, etc back up the chain for process improvement. I'll bring these up during our next bug meeting. It is funny, our 360 debug kits cost us about $500 each and the dev box costs $10,000 each ..... and they dont even play DVD's. However we also run them 8-16 hrs a day all week, and they dont have any heating issues etc..We have already had something like 2 binary updates to the core in the last 3 months, good thing they can be patch updated.

hahhah, yea the first console is just like a first model of a car, its where all the problems get worked out. but in the console market its usually easier to exploit the first edition of a console than next revisions, if you into "modding". I thought it was great when the G5 powermac was the dev kit with a MS sticker on it!!

I finally got one but i'm having problems getting my xbox games to play it says they're not supported by my console but when i look them up on the internet they're supposed to be backwards compatible

for xbox 1 games to work you need the harddrive and either live or dl the cd off their site and burn it to load the "software" to play them.

yah i figured that out when i went to the website and did some research i don't know why but my live account isn't working right now but i dl the emulator and got it all working right just kinda pissed cuz i only have like 3 games on the backwards compatible list

I finally joined the crowd, got an 360 Elite this weekend (Very Early Birthday gift from my lovely wife!) Got Forza 2 ordered. Currently playing PGR2 on the old Xbox, need some help. There is supposed to be an expansion pack for it, but I can't see it on the 360 (I don't think their is an emulator for PGR2) Anyone have any idea?

heh, I found an old 3-month X-box live pak for the original laying around my local Sam Goody/F.Y.E. store, and got the update packs, and I've been playing PGM2 online a little. I'm still trying to beat PGM2, but I have a feeling when I get Forza 2, I won't touch the old 'box again......

i just got a 360 about a week or so ago..got splinter cell with it and bought forza 2 and tiger woods 07..forza's such an amazing game..if anyone wants, can add me RedFire2K...maybe someone will race me and my lil 628 hp civic hb

my friend and old roommate both each got one this weekend. I am planning on getting one so I bought rainbow six for my friend to borrow until i get mine. Fun game coop! and on live. sorta like socom, so if you like that rs vegas on live is like it. Forza 2 is great fun aswell.

ya i downloaded the demo of RS vegas and was sweet...one game i cant wait to come out is colin mccrae's DiRT..it's a sweet game according to the demo i also downloaded

R6V is an awesome game... i really like it.i was HOOKED on Halo 3 beta... but i moved and wont have internet till after the beta ends.Theres another soon to be game, blacksite area 51. demos great

ya blacksite didnt do it for me..amazing graphics and all..but taking 3 clips to kill some dumb alien aint me..i like more realistic games..like spliner cell and rainbow six..forza2..dirt..

i dl'd Dirt to my friends xbox but then had to leave to Duluth. Still need to play it It looks sweet though, sega rally rev did too. I should get a x360 sometime soon, maybe this summer, but i still have a crappy tv 480i sux btw. Hey does anyone play crackdown co-op on live?!

im using my 19" widescreen monitor and 5.1 computer speakers as my entertainment center lol..hit a button and im on the computer..pretty sweet

yeah, I'm on crackdown a lot lately (what with the Beta ending)yeah 480i blows, but before you look into laying down a couple thou on an HDTV, look at computer projectors first. If you can control the amount of light in the room, they are hands down Equal to most HDTV's at 720p or 1080i, and you can control the size of the screen.Currently, I have 7.1 Dolby Digital Ex, with a 94" screen.The Picture doesn't do it justice. Really, the picture looks like total crap compared to the actual viewing experience.

well you guys i HAVE to get a console now. I just bought gears of war and crackdown! So thats 3 games before the system ahha. ive done that for ps2 and wii....odd, anyway when i get it we should trade tags

GOW is awesome..for some reason i didnt like crackdown lol..R6V is a sweet game..so is the splinter cell series..also get Forza 2 and DiRT when it comes out northvibe

dude i played teh Dirt demo...(removed) I freakign love that game!!! ive been playing forza 2 , im so glad it came out, hopefully I beat it right before GT5 comes for ps3 so I can make a nice transition to that hahah. crackdown I like playing coop on live, then its like a two person rampage of crazyness hahahha.

Ive been playing R6V a lot with a buddy online.. thats pretty fun, cuz its pretty realistic and i get my (removed) kicked by the terrorists. haha.The whole against everyone thing (sharpshooters) is hard.. people on there are crazy good and no all the glitches to get higher on things and where to hide.Im waiting for my halo game and UNREAL TOURNAMENT III to come out

Playing R6V co-op is fun, the deathmatch/team deathmatch feel like socom so i like that. Halo 3 4 player co-op should be sweet!! im getting a x360 for coop games only. when i get mine we'll have to trade names so we can game together.

yeah, mines almost the same- Mrizzle84I love coop games, and team deathmatch or team hunt.R6V, Gears, Halo are all good online coops

I havent played pgr3 yet, but I played forza 2 and pgr for xbox 1 good games. OH dirt I played the demo...(removed) I want that game its so sweet.
