Problems that I'm Havin With my Vibe

Post by nismo »

Hello there guys and gals,I got a question for everyone. I got a list full of problems inside and outside my car. Here's the list:Hatch inside panel is hanging offThe right miniwindow in the back, the weather stripping is out (dunno how?)The fender flare on the passenger back door, the rivot broke offMy bumper does not line up with my fenderMy hatch rattles like no other just driving w/o my system onAnd I think that's it. Now my question, would the dealer fix all of these problems? If not, where should I go? Thanks for your input everyone.Inder Singh

If your dealer can't fix all of your trouble, it's time to find another dealer.

The hatch rattle could be something like the rear cargo deck isn't locked down, or the hatch isn't fully closed.

Did you buy new or used? It almost sounds like a poor repair after an accident.

I've checked every single thing. I bought the car new. I dunno. Some of this stuff I jus been noticing. Like, at the supermeet in Michigan, I noticed most of these things. I told Jeff (one of the reps for GM quality). He said that he would call me the following Tuesday and let me know. Never called, so, yeah. The rattle, I have done like a head to toe expection with my brother, can't seem to find it anywhere except from the hatch. The bumper, I took it to them and they said, sorry, we can't do anything, that's how your car is. I'm like, fine, don't wanna deal with you guys anymore. I jus striaght up left. Never took the bumper off to put the intake on. So, yeah. Thanks for the ideas though. Really appreciate it.Inder Singh

TRD4reel, I'd say your best option to take next (if you're still under warranty) is to find a different dealer. Given your location, and the number of Vibes around you, I'm sure someone from your area can chime in with a recommended dealer.Do you have any pics of the bumper? Interested to see what it looks like. Maybe there isn't anything they can do, plastic body panels sometime have a mind of their own. But, if your bumper is way out of whack and hasn't been damaged, they should at least look at it for you. When I brought up things where the dealer wasn't sure if it was in fact a problem, or just the nature of the beast, they'd pull a new Vibe off the lot to compare notes. I never had to suggest they try that, they did that on their own. But perhaps with the bumper, you may want to see if they'll do that for you.I can't see why they wouldn't replace the rivet holding on the trim, that should be covered under warranty if it isn't missing due to damage. They should replace the weatherstripping as well. For your rattle, the loose trim isn't causing it by any chance, is it? Do you have anything in the spare tire area that could contribute? Only other thing I can think of is the license plate, I've had those vibrate many years ago when I was in my thumpin' stereo phase with lots of stuff in the trunk. Could even be a loose cable/wire somewhere inside the hatch itself. Hard to say. Looks like you've definitely done your part to track down the noise, now it's time for the dealer to step in.I'd say find another dealer and let them have the car for a day to see what they can find. Good luck, hang in there, and keep us posted.
