I know, I know seems utterly pointless but fun for those time when I'm stuck in the car waiting for a couple hours (crappy scheduling for college classes ). So I was thinking maybe install a 5.6" or 7" LCD monitor in the glove compartment, since I really don't use it anyway, and drill a hole in the bottom to run the cables from the XBox (which would be somehow tied down under the front passenger seat). Thankfully the Xbox can dub as a DVD player too which would save me the room of having to install both. One thing though is I have no idea where to run the power cables to and I don't want to connect them to the outlet (though I think the Xbox has a 3 prong grounded plug so it wouldn't fit anyway). As for the mounting of the LCD I think some of them come with mounts so I could either screw it into the box part of the compartment or I could build a light wood frame that the screen could sit in. Anyone think this is a good idea and have any idea about how to attach the power cables?
Here's some pics of the monitor setup I had in mine on this thread. Not sure if that's what you had in mind or not. I could put the monitor on when I needed, and then remove when done so it wouldn't be a theft target.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=932

I can actually connect it to the battery cabling that hooks up to the dash area for power? And thats not quite what I meant carl (because that would require me to replace the 6 CD changer which I dunno if I wanna do yet) I mean actually mounting the LCD inside the glove compartment so that when you open it you find the LCD
You should contact DJDoubleLP - he has an LCD and a PS2 installed in his Matrix. He's on holidays right now and might not be available for several more days, but I'll let him know about the thread and he might be able to give you some tips. From memory, I believe he wired the PS2 power to something other than just plugging it in, but I might be mistaken on that. He mounted the LCD off the rearview mirror and put the PS2 in the glove box. You can check his photo album for the visuals.
Ahhh.......Keely. Thanks! The PS2 is in the glove box and I use the plug in in the dash for power. Now unfortunately there is no way to directly wire the power in......unless you use another power convertor. The one in the car is a sealed unit. Now I use my in-dash 7 inch as my monitor for the PS2....and the one where my rear view mirror was is used for my rear view camera.
