I finally got around to installing my bomz short ram. All I can say is wow! When I hit lift it really pulls now. That was the best $55 I have spent ever. The only thing that I can complain about is the horrible instructions that came with the intake. Talk about generic. O and it was missing the mass air flow sensor screws. I can't wait to drive around tomorrow.
Im installing my Cosmo SR tomorrow morning. Im a bit intimidated by all the work that is required to get the factory airbox out. I dont want to mess anything up. ScottS, you have any install tips?

I am hoping that the K&N install instructions are nearly the same. The Cosmo came with no instructions. I just want to make sure I get all the vac lines correct.

Short rams are pretty much self explanitory if you use basic car knowledge. If you're in doubt however, ask someone for sure.Short rams are nice, but I'm planning on upgrading to a full CAI soon, specifically one with an extra breather.
Fialchar -- The install doesnt look much different than a CAI install. I guess if Cosmo gave me some sort of instructions I would probably be all set but they gave me nothing. I have installed Short Rams on a BMW and a Mustang before so I have an idea of what to do but there is so much going on with the Vibe's intake. I need to go take a look at it and plot everything out.

Here is a link with great photos. It is on a Matrix XRS but will be of great help. I will use these when I finally (someday ) install my intake. http://homepage.mac.com/twilkers/PhotoAlbum10.html .Jim

My CAI isn't much as far as cosmetics, but it works well too I got a fifty something dollar CAI on Ebay, and replaced the cheap filter with a AEM hyper intake.
You should be able to pick up a name-brand replacement filter for $20-30 at a car performance shop. I got mine (AEM Hyper Intake filter) at V&T Performance for $30

the install for a sr is easier than the full cai. i've installed and reinstalled mine 3 times so far... it's very very easy. in fact, i know someone posted a step by step how to. i think it was lancer in the f/i or how to forum! i'll see if i can find it.
injen cai install by lancer try this! it should make the airbox removal a piece of cake! do you have the base or gt engine? the gt engine is just an extra vacuum hose.
