So, I took my Vibe in to the dealership today for the 105,000 km oil change. My air filter was getting pretty dirty (it's the original one), so they asked if I wanted it replaced. Yes, I would, thanks.Oh, we don't have one in.OK, I'll just run over to Toyota and pick one up. I had some other errands to run, and showed up at Toyota right at 5:30. Doors closed. Ugh.So, I went to Canadian Tire. None in stock. They called PartSource (basically a CT with only automotive stuff), and they didn't have one either.Question: how many limbs and first born children do I have to pony up to get a GD air filter?I will phone Toyota tomorrow and see if they have any in stock. If it's around $18 (which it was at CT) I will just have my finace pick one up for me on his was out of the city. If not, I guess I'm calling around to find the cheapest one & ordering it in.

I'm talking engine, but I've had the same experience with the cabin air filter.I ended up calling Toyota this morning. They have them for about $22 CDN. My fiance is going to pick me one up on his way home (he had to pull an all-nighter at work, poor (removed)).I'm sure they're out there as after market parts, it's just that the bozos around here can't be bothered to stock the parts.

You should order a K&N drop in air filter from Canadian Tire. They are about $55.00 Can and will last you the life of the car. You just have to clean and re-oil it about once a year. It will also give you a small HP increase.
