Hi AllEnclosed is a email that I sent to GM Canada Feb 14th/04. No reply to date.I fully expect that GM Canada will do nothing about these tires.....But I may be wrong Anyway, I've posted this in case it will help someone checking out a Vibe not get stuck with these tires ( Get it? Get Stuck Feel free to forward a copy to GM Canada with your opinion about these tires maybe as a group we'll get some action from GMRe: Continental ContiTourning Contact CH 95P205/55R/89H CH 95Sir MadameI’ve discussed the concerns with my salesman yesterday (Tom Gourmely) at Brian Finch here in London about the tires that my Pontiac Vibe came equipped with. And Tom has checked with his co-workers who drive the Vibe demonstrators and they feel the same way that I do is that the tires perform less than satisfactory with the road conditions that we have experienced this winter.My driving is 95% city driving, on reasonable maintained streets and these tires just do not perform to what I expect from an All Season Tire. I feel these tires are over rated and should be downgraded to a Summer Radial and not a good one at that.I discussed the matter with other Vibe owners about the winter handling of these vehicle and all of rate the car as what they expected, but I also took notice of the tires on the vehicle which were Good Years I’ve call GM customer service and am unsatisfied with their response. While I’m being treated in a good fashion, the call taker is reading from nothing more than a prepared script and hasn’t / never experienced the loss of control of their car under wet / snow covered roads driving conditions and does not comprehend my concern.I feel GM Canada should re evaluate these tires and cease using them as original equipment on all GM products as they do not meet standards of a quality All Season TireI also believe that GM Canada should replace the tires on my vehicle under warranty as a precaution while these tires are being re accessed.Thank for your timeJack SulkersC C Tom GourmelyBrian Finch GMC

Well there fellow londoner, thats a good e-mail and I hope you do get results. I have conticraps on my Vibe to and I really dislike them. I see no point in complaining though because I won't be running them in the summer and will be replacing them with winter tires anyway. Your not the only one GM will have heard from in regards to these tires. Did you get the power package? Seems to me there is some sort of random thing that decides if you get good year tires or conti... I didn't get abs or the power package.

No I won't be running these next winter as I vaule my life. As no point in complaining I heard that about Firestone tires on a friends Ford, He got new tires out of them and as far as I'm concered these tires are GM's version of a Firestone tireOf matter of fact I did get Power Package but no abs brakes as their expensive to fix

expensive to fix was why I said no on the ABS, but I didn't take the power package simply because I can roll down the window myself heh. You planning on getting after market rims for summer tires? The good years are not the best in winter to... Try for some Mich tires if your looking for a good all season tire.What colour is your Vibe? Mine you can see on my car domain page.

Took the power pkg because too many times I had to reach across car to roll window down (got that middle age spread ) As for colour it's the light grey (satilitte?) withe base clading and alum wheelsWindows tinted head lites wnt to change to cool blue but checking for opinions first in maintance formChecked the newfie (CT) speed shop for steel wheels $69.00 got all summer to check wreckersbus driverWanted to register mine this morning but pass word no work so thats on my to do list

you don't want to run the steels with winter tires? thats what I would do and save the alloy for summer... a lot cheaper if you hit a curb.Car domain can be weird sometimes, looking forward to seeing your Vibe. I'll update mine once some more mods are done.

Our Vibe has Contis too but after one drive in snow (1cm) they were replaced for some proper snows with steel wheels (dunlop Graspics)195/65/15s
