Very nice gains! Now I'm very happy I put it back on. The air/fuel ratio is still right where I want it. I still don't know what problem TRD had with it on, but for me everything is running fine with it. The red line is before the CAI and the blue line is after the CAI was reinstalled. I video taped the dyno and as a bonus taped a 2003 SVT Mustang with 444 RWHP being run. Very sweet car. With the losses in a automatic drivetrain, you must be making 200 HP or better at the flywheel!Couple of questions/observations: What AFR is it running? the scale is kinda garbled. Also, the power still seems to be climbing fast at the fuel cutoff point, which looks to be ~6,750 RPM. That's about 350 more than a stock base Vibe. Is that the stock Matrix cutoff, or have you raised it a bit? If the latter, it looks like still more power could be had, maybe up to 7,000 or so, if the machinery is up to it...

My A/F ratio is 12.5:1. The TRD ECU piggy-back ups the rev limit. I assume the Vibe SC is the same. I was hoping the Unichip could raise the rev limit up to 7,000 rpm but apparently it can't.
Nice thing about the 5spd, no rev limiter. But unfortunatly no SC yet for the 5spd Vibe. Once its out though Larry you'll have to keep an eye on us Vibers, we won't be in your rear view mirror anymore heh.Sweet car you got there to man, watched the vids.

I thought the 5-speed had a rev limiter too. We're all on the same team. The more of base/XR owners with the SC the better IMO!

I was talking to a guy who works at another dealership from the one I work at, he was telling me they had a Vibe GT in with a blown engine cause the guy was "probably" racing and put it in the wrong gear with the rpm just screaming... apparently he was downshifting for more power and skipped to many gears. I didn't get all the details but my 5spd Sunfire did not have a rev limiter...

Nobody has a system to prevent unwise downshifts on a conventional manual. I reported on another thread about a new Vibe GT a GM rep friend of mine investigated: A potential customer on a 'demo' drive with the salesman at fast highway speed in 5th, downshifted to 2nd by mistake. It trashed the engine and the clutch grenaded, putting shrapnel through the cowl, hood, etc. Apparently, they wrote off the car... (Hmmm... now that I think of it, it might have been the same car your pal mentioned, Mavrik! I'll ask my guy what dealership it was.
actuall because of the misshift problem with the 2zz somebody over at newcelica said toyota was installing a modification to his newly repaired tranny to prevent skipping gears ,you have to downshift thru every gear. trans interlock or something

A fellow over at Toyota was telling me the same thing about the downshift problem blowing engines. Apparanetly Toyota is a lot more forgiving then GM cause they gave the guy 3 new engines before telling him finally "sorry your on your own now."That might have been the same Vibe GT, like I said I don't remember all the details. But it got me thinking there can't be two low of a rev limiter on the manual transmissions. My question is though heh, that guy who testdrove and blew up the Vibe, did he buy one? I know the main reason I bought a base 5spd was because I do not like the 6spd... felt way to awkward after driving 5spds all my life.Downshift interlock sounds good on a transmission.

I must admit that I would not mind going up to 7k , The guys at Japspeed racing in the Uk have a centrifugal SC kit that they have tested up to 1bar on stock internals (over 14psi) on the 1zz ,but interestingly they lowered the rev limit to 6k...I believe that had to do with the nature of that SC...but my turbo wants to go to 7k (You can see I have problems when I am stating things like "my turbo wants"....)LOL!!!!!!!!
