XM roady problem

I have a question for anyone out there who uses an XM Roady with the FM modulator. Has anyone else noticed a loss of bass? When my Roady is on, I get almost no bass sound, even though the bass levels are turned all the way up. When I switched back to regular FM radio, my bass comes back. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions on how it can be fixed (or if it can be fixed)?

It could just be a limit on the FM modulator itself. I have my roady directly connected to my Nav system through a PIE adapter, and I know the volume level is lower..but not a loss of bass...

i just put 2 new roady's in my cars, 1 is a 2004ford taurus,the other is my 2004 vibe, in the ford i have no sound problems, in the vibe,well that another story,bass problems,signalproblems,drops, both are installed the sameant.placed between the windshied and the moonroof on both cars.your guess is as is good as mine,but i think the vibe has a car ground problem.

There's no ground problem in the vibe.Numerous people have run roadys, I have a skyfi, all work flawlessly.Could be a defunct roady.

And is that the Roady, or the Roady2? If it's the Roady, and you're using the add-on wireless FM modulator, that's most likely your problem. Those things are hit-or-miss. If it's the Roady2, i'd have to wonder where you have it mounted. It needs to be within a foot of the radio to properly work.Are you having XM signal problems, or problems between the Roady and the stereo? There's a big difference between the two.

I fixed my lack of bass. I put in an Aiwa HU and four Polk speakers. Now I can plug the roady directly into the front of the Aiwa with a mini to mini cable. Sounds great now. When I had the FM modulator it really sucked. Now I have a great system all around.

Yees..when I had the SkiFi FM modulator in the Vibe (for all of a DAY), it sucked royally. I've never heard worse..Glad some new stuff fixed it right up, and enjoy your new system!

My roady2 works great, I can even have my buddy catch it on his radio in his car tuned to the same position on the dial all the way at the end of the parking lot at work. Must be about a 50 yd range on that thing. Dont think it has to be a foot away.

Depends on the amount of usage the other frequencies are getting directly above and below your Roady's set at.FM works by modulating the frequency - hence the name FM. If the stations above and below are getting used - the radio will narrow it's reception to prevent it from recieving the other stations. If they aren't being used - the radio may or may not widen the spectrum of its reception.The most affected audio portions are going to be the higher trebble and low bass.Try to shift your roady's broadcast station higher on the frquencies... away from any other stations by one or two clicks.However, even if you do - the radio may not pick it up. A second option is to increase the output volume from it's default setting of 5(?) to something close to 7 or 8. This may give you a stronger signal without being excessive. I can't remember if that's only an option with an audio output cable connected to the Roady - but check the settings.I would highly recommend an aux input for your XM radio. In my opinion - it's $13/month for CD quality music. Without the Aux input - you're paying for FM quality sound.
