Car stereo dimensions

Post by ullbergm »

Anybody know where i can find specs on how big car radios are?I'm looking for the dimensions (ie. height, widht, depth, etc.)The reason im looking for this is that im going to see if i can mount my police scanner under my radio.btw, It's legal where i live to do that as long as you have a amateur radio license.

Sure...go through Crutchfield, I think they have the dimensions on the "specs" page. Could be wrong tho..

No, im looking for the size of a half height radio.basically im trying to figure out if a half height radio plus my uniden 780 scanner will fit. i'm aware that i will probably have to move the uniden into a shell from a old radio, but im not sure the front panel of the 780 is small enough to fit underneath a radio.

The vibe is a dual-DIN radio. You can fit two standard-size ISO/DIN mount radios into the spot. If your scanner is smaller than a standard aftermarket radio, it'll fit fine.
