I don't believe it's a major restyling other than a refresh, but I'm hoping it will be a nice change. We'll have exclusive photos and info of the '05 Vibe from the Chicago Auto Show Feb. 6th-15th.Thanks for posting this!

I wouldn't get to exicited by this. Doesn't sound like a major overhaul to me. Just some minor upgrades probably to appease some big-wig. Besides, change is good, gives us some upgrades to buy that won't let the Vibe styling go stale.

When they mention overhaul like this, it's probably something real small....like a fascia or something.Desi

They decided to ditch the Aztek and graft the Aztek back end onto a Vibe.Oh..wait..that means they'd turn the Vibe into the Aztek concept car...hm...(Kidding, i've no idea)

It will be very interesting to see exactly what GM does. It is unusual for GM to 'freshen' any car in only 2 model years. The last time I remember doing this was with the Aztek and that was to combat the terrible sales that they had the first year. The Vibe seems to be selling quite well as is and usually GM doesn't change fascias and stuff for 3 to 4 years. This could have something to do with the Vibe's ties to the Matrix though. Toyota is quicker to freshen things up and/or replace models than GM is.

That is a good question. I was thinking about this today and I would almost be willing to bet money that one of the things being 'refreshed' will be the back bumper. The Vibe is the only pontiac that will be left with the back-up lights in the bumper when the Grand Am disappears this year. Pontiac already removed them from the Sunfire. I bet that will be at least one area to be 'refreshed'

NO!!! I LOVE those style reverse lights! I have no idea why but I do, That's the reason I like my 00 SF better than the new ones, and if they do that to the Vibe I won't like them anymore.. I'm very curious to see what they do to it, I'm anticipating pictures from the show, Is anyone going? I hope the change is good but I doubt it.

I agree with you fuel4soul. I like the backup lights where they are. I too had a Sunfire (mine was a 2000) and when it was time for a new car, I didn't even consider the Sunfire this time because I don't like the 'freshening up' that the model got in 2003. Looks too much like a Saturn SC coupe to me now. Anyway, I may go to the Chicago Auto show this year, haven't decided yet, I should go since I get free tickets from work. If I do, I will take many pictures.

I'm sure we'll have some GVC members out there too I hope! The current rack can be installed or a new style rack should also be available.EDIT: I was wrong! Instead, they only removed the crossbars and left the side bars with the 2005.

Ah yes, GM and their infamous decontenting of vehicles. The wait a couple years, remove a few previously standard things on the car and raise the base cost. Nice deal for them I guess. At least you can still get the roof rack, I happen to like it personally.

I don't like the white and red gauges...I like the all red gauges I have on mine better I personally think they should work on designing some d*mn body kits instead of all new boidy styles...I really want some body kits

I remember when I bought my 97 Sunfire, the spoiler was an option and the year after (or 2) it became standard equipment....There is always the exception to every rule.. Seriously, GM had to do that with the Sunfire because almost no one wanted one without the Spoiler, and they were hard to sell from what I understand. Trust me, they built the cost the spoiler into the price of the car. They didn't drop the sticker price when they decontented some of the items out of the Montana from 2002 to 2003, they raised it.

they dont need a two tone body kit, I didn't expect them to make one because that would look funny. If they made a mono-tone kit I would just swap the plastic for the mono-tone pieces and then get the body kit...I don't have money, but it would be nice to have something to work for that would make the appearance unique

If they all of a sudden figured out how to get XM, sunroof, and NAVIGATION in the car at the same time they'll have one really ticked off '04 owner.
