http://www.caranddriver.com/xp/Caranddr ... ds=celicaI used to easily stay with the GT-S in my old 3.1L V6 '93 Sunbird (which ran 15.5 @ 87 mph)Yours is a sweet car. Probably more setup for road racing than straight-line. Good luck with it and the Vibe. Looking forward to seeing what a Celica fan can bring to the Vibe.Heh, yeah If I read that I would believe thats what the celica runs, however its not right. I dont know how they possibly got so slow of times.. powershifting into redline, most decent Celica owners are hitting 15.0 even, all the guys around here run 14.9-15.2 stock. none of us are stock anymore, but do have quite a few timeslips of team members..We've been compiling a database of confimed times.. check this out if you have a minute to kill..
http://www.newcelica.org/other/track/index.phpif you look around you can find all kinds of conflicting times for any car.. but one driver, test driving a car they dont own or drive everyday, isnt going to have the same results as someone who knows the car. So I often find the car and driver or motor trend tests a little slow. They also had the top end at 127 at one point, which is laughable, because the Celica can hit 140mph. I honestly dont think they even test this stuff sometimes. It may be a tad optimistic, but if you notice in our database, We have one 13.9 on a 50 shot of nitrous, and with just an intake and exhaust.pushing about 225hp. up that to closer to 275 and a car that weighs 1500lbs is flyin. The "Utlimate" Celica has too much power for its size/weight, cant get the power to the ground, so they run into serious traction problems with it.Sounds like a good run in the Sunbird though thats pretty quick.-Tronix(rubber flyin)GT
