Haven't heard of anyone else having that problem -- though because it's SO easy to fix, people may not bother to mention it if it happened to them...In any case, could just have been a fluke, I wouldn't worry about it unless it comes loose again...Though I would've expected the dealer to notice it when they took it in for detailing and I'd think they would have fixed it for you...but who knows...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
My base Vibe 5spd shifter was loose as well. I turned it by hand about 2 full turns to get it on there tight enough that it doesn't move when I shift. I kinda was glad it was loose so I could put it in just the right spot for me to feel comfortable with it.

Hi TriGuy...Mine was fine when I got mine but it had to be driven from another lot about 90 miles away so I'm sure whomever drove it would have tightened it.I took it in for a regular oil change and had em check the clutch and look into the notchiness. When I got it in, the shifter wasn't even lined up right. about a turn and a half to tighten it. Maybe the ones with the loose shifters, the mechanics at the dealership, maybe in a pre-delivery check, look into something under the shift boot... I know I took mine off, used a little lithium grease and Presto!, smoother shifting!Just a thought...Dave
