head unit wiring

Post by Sub-Vibe-R »

I bough a new head unit to put in my future Vibe.I went for the Pionner DEH-P8400MP.For the moment I have a Pontiac Montana 2001 and i put in it an aftrmarket radio with a wiring harness. I'm wondering if the jack is the same in the Vibe. Both Delco radio seems to be the same but I want to be sure before doing all the wiring. Also, in my montana, I was unable to find out the 12v form the ignition. I pick it up somewhere else. Is the Vibe works the same way?

Probably not because the Vibe is made by Toyota and therefore would need a Toyota wiring harness.

Yes the Vibe is made by Toyota but both Matrix and Vibe have a Gm Delco radio.

This has been covered in many threads. Try searching for "wiring harness". You'll come up with part numbers and discussions of various manufacturer's parts. There's some info in this thread: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=324

The wiring harness is 100% GM and takes a GM harness, but one of the newer ones.
