Dash kits and harness part #s for swaping out head units and speakers.

Post by d_m_kolb »

QUOTE: This topic is to stop all the confusion if they have the dash kits and harness out yet. Dash kit- GM-K420 1994-UP , it says 2003 matrix on the bottom. Wire harness 4 speaker- GM 88-UP Wire harness 6 speaker - 80-2002 2000 sturn universal smart cable Antenna adapter is also a GM part. sorry no part number , i got mine from a local car stereo shop. The dash kit and 4 speaker harness is made by American international and the 6 speaker harness is made by Metra. you can get everything at Circuit City. Very easy harness, no cutting of the stock wire harness. just solder it to the new stereo and your set. The only problem is when I fade to front it really fades to rear and when I fade to rear it fades to the front Nothing I did wrong, just the way the harness was made. Metra also just finished making a dash kit for the Matrix/Vibe. Part number is 99-8205. It just started shipping from their Florida warehouse, the metra wiring harness is 70-2003. Also the Saturn harness.I hope this helps

Try seraching online. I'm sure there are companies that have these and will ship to Canada. They'd be stupid not to.

Did you have to relocate your stock radio? The guys at circuit city told me I've have to do that. What did you do with the smart cable once the stock radio was out? Please respond asap, I want my radio NOW!
