2009 Vibe AWD Rear Diff Fill Plug

I've got myself into quite a pickle. I went to add rear diff fluid and surprise! the fill plug is stripped out.

I'm planning on trying to weld a 10mm allen into the bolt and then break loose, but..... before I do wanted to check with you fine folks if there is any other tricks or how you resolved?

Also just confirm, the fill plug is not reverse threaded. I want to be sure I don't over tighten when i think I'm loosening.
