The aux port on my 2010 vibe is damaged. The plastic ring that retains the plug is cracked. As a result it doesn't hold the plug in nicely and it takes some wiggling around to get good sound.
My goal is to be able to listen to music from my phone without much hassle. I'm open minded on how to reach that goal. Keeping it low cost is a priority. Keeping it OEM looking is NOT a priority.
OPTION 1
The first thing that comes to mind is to replace the port with something like this:

This seems like the cheapest but possibly the hardest to do. I can solder, but I'm not great at electronic stuff and it may be more of a headache than it's worth for me.
OPTION 2
Replacing the head unit with an aftermarket or used OEM one is an option too. This is probably the most expensive one. I don't love this idea because I have no problems with the rest of the head unit. Spending $100+ to fix an aux port doesn't sit well with me, but it is something I am considering.
OPTION 3
FM bluetooth transmitter. Never used one. Skeptical of sound quality. But they're cheap enough that I might just buy one to try.
If anyone has any advice, or any other ideas let me know.
