Does interior A-Pillar trim piece share same design as a different vehicle?

Post by chromelampshade »

as title states, does the a-pillar interior trim piece have a similar or same designer as a different GMC or toyota? 2003 pontiac vibe AWD base. looking to do some a-pillar pods but there isn't any that is made for my vehicle. Any other vehicles with similar a pillar shape?

Pretty sure the A pillar trim is the same for an 03-08 toyota matrix, but I wouldn't be confident enough that a Corolla one would be an exact match to spend money. I would bet money no other GM vehicle has the same A pillar trim as a Vibe

Yup, it shares the same a-pillar from any 2003-2008 Matrix/Vibe. If you're wanting to add some gauge pods, I would suggest picking up a spare a-pillar and do some research on the YT on how to fiberglass. It's actually pretty easy. I've done it a few times when I made component speaker pods for my old Nissan Hardbody mini.

ive never worked with fiberglass and from what i've heard its a PITA to create your own fiberglass pods. Unless the pods online im seeing can be heated up and reshaped, I could do that. If not i'll just look for a universal pod mount. Specifically want a 2 pod so I can run a midrange and a tweeter and achieve better sound staging.
