Burnt wiring

Post by spcdtl »

Howdy folks!
I'm here trying to help my elderly grandmother.
She got in an accident and burnt her headlight harness up,
I'm having a hard time trying to find a replacement.
Unfortunately she's in Virginia and I'm in Georgia so I can't just go through each wire and replace them one by one or I would do that.
If you guys could give me the name or identify what this harness is called and maybe point me in the direction on where to find one that would be fantastic

I think this is the wiring harness but I'm not 100%
I also can't find this harness anywhere other than a picture

Take a look at this parts page for the Matrix. It shows the part number label for the harness should be near the engine room fuse block. The one number I could track down showed a retail cost of over $1600.

If all you need to replace is the melted connector, you'll probably have to track down a GM part. I'm pretty sure Toyota headlights are different than GM.

Unfortunately it burned up more than a plug. Multiple wires in the were burnt throughout the harness

I take it an insurance claim isn't an option

Could try car-part.com to look for a junkyard that might have one, either near you or her

There could be variations in the harness, so you probably want to make sure you match the year and whether base/GT/AWD, manual or auto tranny, etc

Thanks bud I appreciate it, used it to find (hopefully the correct) harness. Will know in a day or so if it's correct.
