2009 Vibe wheel specs

Post by ScreamRealLoud »

Hi all,

I'm sure this has been covered somewhere, but after a bit of digging on here and elsewhere online, I can't seem to find some wheel specs I'm after.
Long story short. I have an 09 Vibe 2.4L with the steel wheels. I'd like to go on the hunt for some used inexpensive replacements.
Here's what I already know. Bolt pattern is 5 x 114.3. These are 16s but I could put 17s or 18s provided I had matching rubber.
What I'm unsure of:
Offset: Best I can tell, the offset is +45mm
Width: Again, best I can tell it is 7

A few questions: (and I apologize for the lack of knowledge, but if I don't know something I just ask)
One - Is that the correct offset and width on the rims?
Two - What are the parameters I can work with in regard to both offset and width. Obviously I need a 5 x 114.3 bolt pattern. I suspect that since the offset is +45 I have a range I can work with there. Off the top of my head I would guess anything 5mm + or - wouldn't make that big of a difference, though I don't know that for sure.
Three - How does rim width effect tire mounting/look/handling?

That's a lot I know. So, thank you for your time, energy and efforts. I appreciate it!

2009-2010 Vibe 2.4L Base/AWD/GT OEM wheel/tire specs:

- You can fit 16"+ wheels. I don't know of anyone that has gone past 18" wheels yet.
- As you already mentioned, the bolt pattern is 5x114.3
- The offset is actually +39. The higher the offset past +39, the more the wheels will "sink" into the wheel well. The lower the offset past +39, the more the wheels will stick out of the wheel well.
- The width of the OEM 2009-2010 Vibe GT wheels is 7". I believe it is the same for the 17" wheels and, someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 16" steelies are 6.5" wide.
- The factory tire sizes are 16" = 205/55/16, 17" 215/45/17 and 18" 215/45/18

As far as getting the right tire size, etc. Tire Rack is a great place to start. Enter your vehicle information and they will bring up wheels and tires that will fit your Vibe.

So, just to clarify - if I was to get aftermarket wheels with a +35 offset, the wheels will protrude outward more than stock?

Yes, that's true, but with a +35, it wouldn't be super noticeable. I had +35 offset wheels on my Sunfires and they stuck out quite a bit to where it was noticeable, but the factory offset for the Sunfire is +45, so that's obviously a much bigger difference.

No problem ;)! I only remember because of how the wheels fit on my Sunfires. It was weird because they stuck out noticeably on the Coupe, but didn't seem to stick out nearly as much on the Sedan. Go figure :|.

I just wanted to say thanks to the OP and commenters. Y’all solved my dilemma without having to ask!

That being said I had a quick question. On the 09 Vibe 1.8 base, is the bolt pattern 5x114.3 or slightly different?
