What creates the annoyance: Door open, with the key in the ignition.Anyone know how to unplug the speaker that provides the beeping noise? Where is the speaker?

Well, I need the key in the ignition to play the radio. I like to play the radio when I'm working or cleaning the car. With the exception of when I'm pointing the water hose at the car, my door is usually open. The beeping overpowers the radio and my sanity.

I believe I'll let someone else step in here then who knows more about electrical wiring in the car...the extent of my knowledge is just "Don't touch it, don't mess with it." LOL
The beeping is coming from the instrument panel, I think... Just keep the driver side door closed...it shouldn't beep with any others...

Ok. here is a better example. Today, I was wiring my GPS to the under dash fuse box, and like always, I had the radio on. I have to have the driver door open because half my body is hanging out the door. The dog on beeping was next to my ear drum No big deal, I was hoping that I could snip the wires to the spearker. I just need to find the speaker that creates the beeping. It does not sound like it is any of the radio speakers, but I could be wrong.

its not a speaker, it is a relay. under the dash behind the tray on the left side of the steering column is a junction block. on this block are your relays put your key in the ignition open your door and feel and listen to the relays 1 of them is making a noise, i'm sure you can unplug it. but it is there for a reason. and when you leave your keys in the ignition and your car is stolen you'll know the reason its there.
If it were me, I'd either take the key out of the ignition, or use a wood or C clamp on the door jamb to keep the door open switch pushed in. If I needed to have a semipermanent way to disable it, I'd probably wire a switch to disable the door open switch.I locked my keys in the car once, so I need all the help I can get, and won't disable the beeping.
