Interested in seeing some alternate oem wheel swaps

Post by Sonders »

Like the title says, looking at options for other oem wheel swaps that will fit an 03' Vibe without modification. I'm not a fan of the steel wheels on mine, and like the simple clean swap of different oem wheel swaps. Feel free to post pics of your swaps.

Nobody has put different wheels on their Vibe that wants to show them off?

I really like the simple 5 spoke G6 wheels; however not sure they will fit. Also kind of like the 5 spoke wheels on the Cobalts that are 5 lug. Surely those would fit.

Have had these Summer season wheels and tires on my Vibe a while. Like them better than steels for sure. One thing I don't like is a wheel that is either too far inside the wheel well line or sticking outside the same line. My wheels/tire are 17" Borbet Type CA with a 38mm offset from TireRack with a 225/50 17 Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum tire. Quiet and durable tire, but not for snow. Some pics that I could find...

This is the '03-'08 OEM wheel spec chart from the Toyota Matrix side of the house... works for us too. They had an extra hubcap version for their 16 inch steel wheel, so don't let that throw you off...

Whatever wheel you buy, make sure it's between 38 and 42mm offset. The OEM 17 has a 45mm offset. These figures work out of the '03-'08 models and are 5X100 bolt pattern. Not sure about the Second Gen. They have two bolt patterns to deal with, I think.

There are a bunch of great looking wheels you can find for Vibes. I wish I had gone with a 225/55 17 tire to make it more SUV like. Next tire.

Those Borbet rims look good; not too flashy, almost a stock looking wheel.

I almost bought a set of 17" oem Matrix aluminum rims at local junkyard yesterday. Decided I didn't want 17's since I figured 17" tires would cost a little more than 16's. Plus one had some pretty big gouges in it. They have a set of Vibe wheels that are in pretty good condition I may just get. I'm definitely going to go with a slightly larger tire size.
