How Safe is a Vibe/Matrix?

Post by Salsa Guy »

This is why my daughter will be getting my old Trix. If you can walk away from this with minor injuries the car is Well Built.

Snow buildup around guardrails provides a nice launching platform! There's usually a couple of accidents like this around here every year where someone catapaults themselves over a barrier or cable... At least they landed on a service road and not oncoming freeway traffic!

My wife's '04 after hitting a huge boulder (moved it a foot) and rolled 3 times into the arco. She and my daughter had minor aches and pains. Yes we bought another one. My daughter has it now.

That is impressive! My wife was wanting to get a bigger car for her, our oldest started with a Taurus, then the boys drove a F-150. I told her that the Matrix/Vibe is every bit as tough, get much better MPGs and is AWD.

Yeah it's amazing just how safe these little cars are. Here are a couple pics I got a while back of interesting crashes. I believe in both cases the occupants survived BUT I would have hated to have been inside the house when that Vibe came crashing in :o

Unfortunately the driver of the Vibe in the first pic did not survive.
