Damaged lug nuts

Post by rapier »

03 GT with 17" stock rims. I have 6 damaged lug nuts. The stock 6 point lug wrench will not work on them as evidently they were hammered on with a wrong sized socket, probably with an impact wrench. I had to beat a 12 point socket onto them and wrecked the chrome cap extracting them from the socket. At any rate is it possible to get OEM replacements?

I suppose buying a new set of aftermarket ones would be better. The design is odd, to me anyway. With a built in washer. When shopping at Auto Zone or where ever, should I take a face value that what they sell for a Vibe will work?

Just swing by any rim and tire shop. They'll have what you need there. Probably cost ya around $20-$30 to replace them all.

I bought a set on ebay for the stock 17" wheels I put on my son's 06. The alloy wheels require the specific lug nuts with the washers, but any of them with the same dimensions and threads should work OK. Mine were like $25 shipped.
