I'm sure there are just look out for the "GF Chips" which are total trash. You are looking to spent $500 or more. If you don't have any mods i.e. IHE then you really are not going to see any gains.

I think that answer was pretty good.

Watch out for the scammers, and, if you don't have any performance modifications, getting a tune will not really help you. If you need more than that... a local Google search will pull up local tuners.

Other than that, the 09gt can benefit from the poor mans post at the top of this section. It's just difficult to track down performance parts for discontinued non-performance cars at times.

A good Tuning Setup will run you at least $500 including Dyno time. However if you don't have an Intake (SRI/CAI) or Header or Exhaust system (IHE) the gains will be small.

Beware of "CHIPS" because they are nothing but a resistor. They will work for a few days but the Engine Computer (ECU) will figure it out and put the fuels trims back.

Now do you understand?

The Toyota 2.4L isn't commonly tuned. That engine is in hundreds of thousands of really boring cars, and a few fun ones including the Scion TC.

Unichip makes a chip for the Scion TC, it might or might not work in your car. According to Unichip it "Adds up to 14hp &12ft-lb" which is a calculated number, your mileage will very.

The tune on the chip requires an intake and cat back exhaust. If you have a different setup you'll need to ask Unichip or Unichip tuner to change the programming.

It's up to you to figure out what your goals and budget are.

I'm not really sure the Unichip does a good job. It's lacks spoofing the ECU so they will fight each other for control. AEM FIC can spoof the ECU.

It's time to educate yourself and do some research on the internet. Decide on a budget and goals then work from there. Intakes are easy to install and cheap but will only give you few HPs in gain. Don't believe the websites saying you'll gain 10 HPs because it won't happen.

The two most common performance modifications for the 2009-2010 2.4L Vibe that owners on here have is the K&N CAI (cold air intake) and Magnaflow catback exhaust.

FYI, although the K&N CAI is not listed as fitting the 2009-2010 Vibe 2.4L, it will fit as many owners here, including myself, have it installed without any fitment or performance issues.

FYI, the Magnaflow catback exhaust linked above is a direct-fit for the 2009-2010 Vibe GT.

I would suggest that if you don't know anything about cars - leave it alone and do nothing. Buy some chrome for it and call it good. Most hack job modifications cause more harm than good. The Vibe is essentially an economy car, it will never be anything else unless you spend many thousands of dollars. But if you do it wrong you will lose performance and economy.
