Working with a trusted local mechanic on my rotors. Car is shuddering when braking he took a look seems a bit hesitant to try and turn them, especially the rear unvented ones. He seems to be having some trouble - at least with his parts guy - getting/pricing them.

Does anyone know the parts number for 2009 vibe gt rotors or a trusted site to look them up?

Back when I was thinking of doing mine on my '10 GT the fronts were $55 from autozone. If I were you I would replace them and not turn any of the rotors as they make factory rotors pretty thin to begin with. But thats just a mechanics 2 cents

I second the motion. OEM and cheap aftermarket rotors can warp. Actually, any metal brake rotor can warp. Turning them will make them thinner and will probably warp again even sooner. If brake rotors overheat, they tend to warp. Really easy to warp rear rotors by leaving even a tiny bit of emergency brake on while driving. Poorly adjusted emergency brake will do the same thing, keeping slight brake pad contact on the rotors, they overheat and poof... you get warped rotors.

Just did a search on google for... "09 vibe gt brake rotors" and I got 153,000 individual 2009 Vibe GT brake rotor results in 0.36 seconds. I didn't count them, but google told me that. Your parts guy needs a good google tutorial.

Any reputable parts store or Toyota/GM dealership will give you the part numbers. Or you can google that as well.

I changed all 4 rotor and pads set last year on my 09. One of the pads had somehow dug into the rotor so I told myself what the hell I'll swap everything and be done with it. I put "american friction heavy duty police pack" pads all around and front rotor. Got them directly from the manufacturer in St-Laurent. The company didn't made the rear rotor for a 2.4L 1SC (only the 1.8L and GT model) so I bought Toyota OEM rear rotors. It's only been 14 months so I have nothing to report as of today but I'm curious to see how the 2 sets or rotor will wear down over time. I was quite satisfied with the OEM toyota rotors on the cars and I could have extended them for quite longer had one pad not dug into a rotor. I couldn't compare the rear full rotor (since they didn't make them) but when comparing the front ventilated rotor, the american friction rotor appeared to be a good notch above the OEM toyota parts in term of quality. They came highly recommanded from a mechanic friend that worked in the SQ police garage.
