Alternator removal trouble

Post by Vibin »

'03 Vibe base.

I removed the belt, Took the top bolt off and went for the second and wouldn't budge. soaked it in liquid wrench for almost an hour and still nothing. I even took my mini torch to the back end of the bolt and still nothing. My impact wrench now shredded the bolt head. Should i drill the bolt or cut it off?!? any ideas??

I've heard good things about these extractors. May be worth a try if there's anything resembling a bolt head left.

Did you use a 6 point socket when it stripped?

If you get it out, the replacement bolt is: M10 x 1.25mm and 70mm long.
