Ordered PBR Ground Wires...

Post by savedbyzero »

Just ordered a set of ground wires from PoweredbyRice over at matrixowners.com Should be here within a week. I'll take some shots of install and post it, along with impressions and such. Can't be too bad for $50!

There's a long thread at http://www.matrixowners.com/ftopic5465.html Also some info on Lancer's DIY install at http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=5465Reportedly better performance due to better electrical ground connections throughout the engine compartment.

Did this mod with the help of everyone. If you have an automatic it doesn't shift as hard... in fact it's barely noticable. I too wondered if it made a difference, and if it did why the manufacturer didn't do this... but hey wire is cheap... so I tried it out... good stuff! Also insulated the AC line at the same time... AC get's colder faster... a big help here in Orlando.

Cool, get some good close up's of the wire and the connector's. I'd like to see how he put them together.

Not to say this isn't a good mod, but I would be careful. I learned the hard way that factory plugs and wires are pretty darn good. I put some aftermarket plugs and wires on a previous car and ended up having problems down the road. Good luck!

QUIKAG, he means the hyper ground wires, not the spark plug wires.

QUIKAG, what are your thoughts on these "extra" ground wires? I don't see how they really work but many claim they do produce small mounts of HP.

Let's just say I won't be putting them on my car. Funny, how the guy on that matrixowner thread says he actually 'felt' a difference. If you can feel a supposed 3-5hp difference, then you should get a job at a car company testing development mules because your '(removed)' meter is pretty refined.
