I've been putting up Christmas lights on my car for the past few years (using the plug in the car) and just finished putting them on for this year. People seem to get a kick out of it which makes me happy. I'll post pics tonight.

WHelan did it, I did it, I think there were a few others as well. I need to buy a new wreath this year and hope I still know where my lights are. Gotta wait till after Thanksgiving though. lol

Lol, it's my cb antenna. I have the lights going up that and the radio antenna.I realize the wreath is a tad too big for the car but oh well. I had a smaller one that got thrown away.
Wow Kari, I just looked at how long ago your light thread was posted--you must be one of the original Genvibers! The first year I had my Vibe I also put them on the inside. I have them outside now by running the cords out of the window (that opens) on the hatch.
I joined in Sept. 2003 -- I think the board started in 2002. I looked at the # on the thread URL and felt old. LOLI was in college at the time and had only had the car for a year. I've had it for over 7 years now. And only 63,000 miles. CP was laughing at the fact that I said, "YAY snow!" When I was in Ohio going to grad school I hated snow because it would stick around and get yucky and be treacherous for weeks on end and make it hard to walk on the sidewalk and get out of our apartment parking lot. I love an East Tennessee snow -- the kind that falls, stays on the ground for a day or so, then melts.

To me, if it's going to be cold, it might as well snow so you can enjoy it. We use to live near Cleveland and I liked to go skiing at Boston Mills/Brandywine.I can't believe your car only has 63,000 miles--I'm jealous! Mine now has 133,000.

Finally got around to taking off the lights last week or so. Here's a couple pics of how I put them on:I used green floral wire to tie down the lights with out having to wrap the lights around the bars: Works great and makes it easy to take off too.I ran the wires up through the hatch: As for the wreath I followed Whelans thread.
Well, it's that time of the year again! I've been out of the genvibe loop for awhile, but here are some pics of this years lights. I switched to LEDs since they have plastic "glass" and will hold up better. Also put up a "Merry Christmas" sign on the rear view window.
This is one of the most awesome things I have ever read/seen on this site! Thank you for sharing the joy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep on Vibin'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PS: I will be putting my lights on tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!
