Do you kids know if vinyl decal material made for the exterior of your car would work for eyeliner? I cut my template, because I am NOT crazy enough to spend $50 on a couple pieces of plastic!! O_O But I haven't decided what I'd use to make them out of yet. I'd like some opinions! Also does anyone know of a custom decal making person? I'm going to commission some silhouettes of me and my boyfriend's video game characters for my back hatch.ALSO! Look at this side molding. It's so grossssss!!! I'm covering that up in carbon fiber vinyl. lol Do you think that could work for my eyeliner?

The eyelids, as I call them, could be made of vinyl. I got mine from a nice guy on ebay. The first pair I got were damaged, so he sent em another pair, free of charge. But mine are fiberglass. As for the decals, you could try to hit up Ryan from GrafXWerks. He's a nice guy, and is really great to work with. I got my Irken insignia made through him. Plasti-dip is a spray-on rubber coating. I did my eyelids, rear trunk trim and my cold air intake pipe in plasti-dip. It is very versatile, easy to spray, and hard to screw up. I was actually bored, so I sprayed a leaf in red and it actually came out pretty well, considering I only dumped a thick coat on it. What you're supposed to do it one light coat, and then you can do it however thick you want. Pooling is hard to notice on the final product. And if you mess up it can just peel right off. That sounds like a really good option for door trim. Let me know how that works out durabilitywise.

I have been considering doing mine with the plasti dip as well. As far as durability... You see that my cladding is black, not gray? Same stuff. I've learned the key is a good thick layer of multiple coats.

The good thing about plasti dip is if it gets boobooed then you peel it off and do it again, youtube has lots of videos on applying and taking it off you can check out

Just got my eyeliner on today. What do you think? We'll have to see how well it holds up! I didn't do the side trim because I have to take it off to do it. I'm not going to risk scratching my paint anymore than it already is, so I'll save that project for later.

It looks great! You don't necessarily need to remove the trim to paint it if you're going to use plasti-dip. Just use the tutorial I posted, substituting the badge for the moulding.

I looked at that, but for some reason I didn't know that's what you were talking about. lol I think because that wasn't what I was going to do.I paid $3 for the sheet of vinyl I used for the eyeliner, so I'm pretty pleased with the money I saved. lol
