I thought I would post of a few pics of my Bobber motorcycle that I built since I saw another oldschool bike on here. Enjoy the pics its quite the transformation. Here she is when I bought her.... YIKES!Stripped her down to the bones. After cutting the frame, starting, the seat and reworking all the electronicsHere she is pretty close to finished... just need to powdercoat the wheels Red
That was one pug-fugly Honda. You've done an awesome job on correcting that, though! Good work! I'm planning on undertaking a similar project with my Buell P3 at some point. They're a funky looking little bike on their own and the little 500cc single's quirks make them really fun. Mine has a big-bore cylinder kit so I'm at about 605cc. I love the thing, but the tiny wheels are ugly and the low seat height makes it pretty uncomfortable (not to mention I look like a bear on a circus bike) for my stature. I'm looking to essentially wrap a new frame around the engine, will likely retain the suspension and hopefully the unique underslung exhaust. Otherwise, I think it's in for a lot of change. So far, it's just a bunch of sketches and a quirky looking actual bike.
Hey you have to start somewhere. I just fell in love with the mono shock design on this, because is has the appearance of a rigid with the ride of a soft tail. I am too old to be riding around on a hardtail. I have put almost 2000 miles on this bike since finishing it in March. Its a fun little scoot.
First pic I nearly shat myself... Last pic gives me that warm fuzzy feeling... (I'm a HUGE Exile fan)Good job at turning a trainwreck into a real piece of art.. !!
Thanks sublime, it was a fun build. Just a quick flip 3wks start to finish. Here are a couple more pics, you can see the hot rod style exhaust in the one, and how low and stretched out it is in the other. Not to mention it looks like the back tire is going to eat me alive when I ride it. But I love it.
dude! nice work! 3 weeks start to finish? very nice. a buddy of mine did similar work to his road star a while back. i know what you mean about the softails. rode one on a group ride a little while back and almost didn't want to get back on my triumph:Pmillster, good to hear you're still diggin' your blast. when you mentioned your buell and 'project,' i immediately thought of mac bikes and their concepts anyways, ride safe, guys. we're finally geting decent riding weather here in chicago.

That was definitely a good bike to start from. 500 or 650?Ramenboy, that is almost exactly what I would like to see mine turn out like except that I'd like to retain the stock exhaust. It's just so unique. Curiously, that bike is a stock frame. The engine is still a stressed member. I hadn't considered leaving mine that way, but it would be interesting.
