Base vs GT exhaust

I'm not positive, but I thought that the exhaust, atleast fromt axle back, was the same between the base and the GT. So what I'm wondering is why do exhaust companies have seperate designs for the base and GT? Do they use different mufflers for the two motors or is there actually a design difference between the two stock versions?

im pretty sure the bending is the same but the muffler is different since the GT has a more powerful engine.
