What makes a mustang a Cobra?

I've been going to more carshows and I see a lot of mustangs that are either GT or Cobra's. What's the difference, cause they look the same to me?

My friend just got a cobra. Not sure what the difference is but its got 410 ponies under its hood.

I'm not real familiar with mustangs, but the new Cobras have a supercharger on it. Supposedly is as fast or slightly faster than a new stock Vette, but not quite as quick as a Z06 Vette.From what I've read, the Cobras are awesome cars.

my friend said she use to have a "saline"(sp?) mustang. anyon eherad of that? i never heard of it, she said its one step up from a cobra.

If I am right the cobra's full name is SVT Mustang Cobra,which is 390 horsepower.The Saline (if I spell that right) I belive is a tuning,but i have no idea how many horsepower it is.

The difference between the GT and the Cobra is different for different years. The main differences of current Mustangs are that the GT has a single overhead cam motor and a solid rear axle while the Cobra has a double overhead cam motor with a supercharger and an independent rear suspension.SVT stands for Special Vehicle Team which is the division of Ford that builds high powered versions of Ford cars. Like the SVT Cobra, SVT Lightning (F150 pickup) and SVT Focus.Saleen (correct spelling) Mustangs are special Mustangs built by Steve Saleen. Steve was a road racer who started building custom Mustangs back in the 80's.http://www.saleen.com/corporate/steveBio.htmThere are many different levels of Saleens with different engine sizes and superchargers, etc.

mustangs are ok but the vibe is sweet i love it but the thing about the mustng is that it is a very heavy car with a lot of torque though so off the line they are ok but after that they die off atleast that is what i have experienced but if i was going to get one i would go with the cobra or saleen cause the v6 mustang is a dog! and the gt mustang for the money is not worth it to me.

!!!!!!!!! I WANT THE NEW MACH 1 . IMO besides the c5 vette the mach 1 is the best bang for the buck out there right now since the camaro is gone
