belt tensioner pulley!!!

Post by skeletron »

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AITbought that from ebay and had it installed and the belt is jumping ten times worse! could it be a bad part or is it the mechanics fault? there isn't very much tension on the belt when i push on it with my hand...need some help and ideas on this one because the mechanic says that the tensioner pulley is bad and it will cost another $60 in labor to reinstall a new one...is this part way cheaper than the dealers $255 price tag for a reason or do i just have a ****ty mechanic?

It almost sounds like it was installed wrong or backwards.

So if you bought the part at the dealer and had it installed the bill would be about $350. What a rip.

it ended up being the idler pulley...whoever owned it before installed a new one and never put the washer back in...the dealer were idiots! they didn't even know what size of belt to use haha i had the belt tensioner installed but it still made the same rattle noise with the belt jumping...

If replacing the pulley, once the belt is removed, do you need to remove the whole tensioner assy to replace the pulley, or is just a bolt holding the pulley on the frame that can be remove to replace the old pulley.
