Need a little help form yall.

ok so the car threw a check engine light Saturday. The light is solid so nothin bad that i know of. The light came on a bit before half of a tank mark, i checked the gas cap it was secure, but i redid it anyways, so my question to yall is anybody know what it could be?

Only way to tell is to pull the codes.You can purchase a code tool at almost any large auto parts distributorSome will pull the codes for free hoping to sell you parts to fix itYou can pay a shop to pull the codes.Outside of pulling codes, no way of telling, could be almost anything from a loose gas cap to a bad oxygen sensor to a transmission issue.Go get the codes pulled and go from there.If it was you gas cap, the light should go off shortly after a restart or two.Dave

^x2 - I'd get the code read. You can get a code reader on ebay for about $25, then you'll always have it for all your vehicles.
