Hotchkis springs on the way.

Post by rasermon »

After the Mi. meet and seeing all the drops I ordered a set from J.C. at Hotchkis. He said they only have about 15 sets left in the warehouse and will go fast for $150. I will install them in a couple weeks and will post pics.

The Teins drop is a little more than Hotchkis. I went with Hotchkis because of the price and the ride. I have been told by mistamatrix that they ride like stock but the handling is a lot better. When I drove Cathy's Vibe at the rally, it also rode and handled really nice. You won't be dissapointed.

let me know when and where. I'm up at school now in the fine city of Flint (no mayor, no budget, no problems) so I can get up to your area's easier.I'm getting my pulleys tomorrow (ups tracking #'s rule!) so IF i can wait till then, maybe we'll put em on at that time too. I'll probably get tired of waiting and put them on as soon as I get them though.

We could make this a mini-mod meet. Don't forget to bring your swimming trunks and your beer goggles. If you get bored with that we can always go down the street to Hooters and get something to eat. LOL, I forgot about installing the springs...

I had to go to a wedding on Sat. and I gave my Mom and Sis a ride to the place where it was. I think that I scared them because I drive very agressively compaired to my sister who drives like a little old lady. With 3 people in the car the ride was ok but big bumps and dips in the road made the ride very rough. They probably think my car rides like a truck. Too bad that they can't drive it to see how it handles!

I'm not exactly sure where to jack it up yet, but you have to be able to. And yes, you do need a spring compressor in order to do this. You need to compress the stock spring to remove them and to install the new springs.

yea see the vibe is weird i wanted to jack it up, but you cant jack it by the suspension or put jack stands there because if your working on the suspension at the time it wont work. kind of annoying.

When I work under my Vibe, for the front I jack it on the rear inner control arm pivot, then put the jack stand under the body where the factory jack fits. For the rear, I put the jack under the lower shock mount and the stand under the rear contol arm pivot point. There's also a link somewhere in this forum to a site with an excellent step by step guide for spring installation.

maybe take some step by step pics if you could. definately before and after. I want to do the springs too, but I am an eibach dealer so I will go with them. Is 1.8/2.1 too low for stock rims, or will it look good?
